She should have hated her.

She should have saw her as her rival.

She should have been striving to best her.

She should have.

But she didn't.

She didn't have in her to hate, to sink to a level of pettiness many have. She didn't, and couldn't see her that way.

Sure, the one she loved loved her. Sure, she had a level of confidence she could never hope to gain. Sure, she had advanced farther in the last two years then she had. Sure, she was more beautiful, more talented, more intelligent.

She couldn't hate her, despite all that. She just couldn't.

She couldn't, because she was now in love with her, despite all the reasons she had to hate her. She couldn't hate her. She loved her too much.

Maybe one day, she'll gain some of her confidence, and tell her. Maybe one day she'll be worthy enough to love her.

Until then, she would be content with loving her from the shadows.
