Worthwhile
He is seeing Edward off, and it is bittersweet; here is what you wanted, he wants to say, but Edward is too far gone to hear, couldn't hear him anyway over the roar of the engine, the engine they designed together – he feels a sharp sting of pain in his chest as the bullet goes in one side and out the other – he seems to fall in slow motion to the floor, and all he can think as he lays there bleeding to death is, my (our) rocket flew, Edward will see his brother again, his brother who he loves: my life was worthwhile, my death was worthwhile…so why am I still not happy?
