Hermione Granger stared up at the night sky, looking at the zodiacal light coming from what looked like the edge of the earth. She turned to stare at her arm, it'd gotten bitten by Ron, who had turned into a Zombie a few days ago after getting bitten. She couldn't bear to kill him, he was still sentient, and his soul was still in tact so why should she kill him. She knew that this ethereal light, known scientifically as the zodiacal light, would probably be the last thing she saw before turning into a zombie. She wondered what it'd feel like, as she lay on the cold desert ground, to be dead. To not have a heartbeat, to not feel anything, and this scared her. But, she knew that whatever the outcome, she'd be able to get through it with Ron. And so, as she looked out into the light, she closed her eyes, welcoming what changes were to come.
