It was in the middle of the day. The sun shining and everything was up and moving.
Lord Sesshomaru had an awful day. Jaken annoying him and every demon that he and his pack came across challenged him because Tokijin had broke.
Rin walked up beside him as he continued to walk. She was such a sweet little girl. To innocent to live in a time full of bloodshed. She was eight in human years. She had brown hair and eyes.
She had a orange and white checkered kimono with little green bubbles on it. It truly did suit her personality.
"Lord Sesshomaru, can I stay with you forever?" She asked him.
He couldn't lie to the girl. He couldn't bring himself to do it. She didn't have near as long as he did. He was a powerful demon. He would live many centuries. She would have maybe half of one, if she was lucky.
"Forever is a very long time Rin." Was all he said as he continued to walk.
She nodded. "I know but, your my best friend, then it's Ah-Un, and then Jaken because he's a meany." She said with a laugh as she stuck her tongue out to Jaken who was holding Ah-Uh's reins.
Before anyone had took another step a shadow demon had shot out of the woods and jerked Rin into the water next to them. A very powerful flowing river.
It was black with red eyes. It was in the shape of a lizard. Sesshomaru barely caught a glimpse.
How Sesshomaru didn't see it coming he didn't know.
"Ah! Lord Sesshomaru help me!" Rin yelled to her protector. She was pulled under.
Rin kicked and screamed for her protector. For her adopted father. But she didn't realize that she was sucking in water as she screamed. She passed out.
Sesshomaru jumped into the water after her.
"Lord Sesshomaru! Rin!" Jaken screeched. By that time. They were both in the water.
Sesshomaru swam down. The water pulling him against his will. He looked down farther into the depts of the water. The shadow demon was swimming off with an unconscious Rin. Had he been above water he would've growled.
He drew Tensaiga as he got closer to the shadow.
'Die.' He thought as he cut the shadow with the healing Tensaiga.
The shadow disappeared, killing it instantly. He swam to Rin, who was floating off into the distance. Her lips blue. Her face pale.
'I won't lose her!' Sesshomaru thought.
He wrapped his only arm around Rin. He then swan to the surface using his legs and feet.
'I won't lose her!' He repeated in his head.
He pulled himself and Rin from the water. He laid her on the grass.
He laid Rin on her back. He got on his knees. Himself and Rin soaked from head to toe. Jaken and Ah-Un looked at them with worry. He pumped Rin's chest not to hard with the palm of his hand trying to get her breathing. He then leaned down and opened her mouth. He breathe his air into her lungs.
'She can't die! I won't let her!' He thought.
Worry flooded his aura as he repeated the action several times. Finally she coughed up water. He sat her up to where she leaned on his only arm. She coughed one more time before she gave out a sob.
"Lord Sesshomaru! I almost lost you!" She cried.
He couldn't decide on if he wanted to laugh or tell her it would never happen.
"Don't worry Rin. I will never leave you." He said.
She hugged him. He wrapped his arm around her as he hugged her back.
'I will protect her with my life.'
