AN: A New Year is nearly upon us, so what better way to end than with a story?
Stars twinkled overhead as two girls stood on the Observation Deck , watching them through a couple of telescopes. It was a beautiful evening in late January, and Olivia Wild had been staying with her good friend Sapphire Stone for the last few days of the Summer Holidays before school started back up again.
They had been silent for a time, looking at the stars, feeling like they could stay there forever. Okay, so that was a slight exaggeration. Till the moon set, at least.
However, thanks to weather gods that neither girl actually believed in, their plans were rudely interrupted by a sudden thunderclap.
"Well , that's a bother," Olivia sighed in annoyance.
"Yeah," Sapphire agreed as she led the way to the elevator that would take them back downstairs.
The two rode the elevator downstairs, and Olivia suggested that they watch something.
"Do you think that if we do watch something, we'll end up having another adventure?" Sapphire chuckled.
You see, the last time they had seen something together on their own, they had ended up having an adventure that was quite out of this world.
"Only time will tell," Olivia laughed, to which Sapphire raised an eyebrow.
"Did you just seriously quote my own words back at me?" She asked.
Laughing, Olivia nodded, and Sapphire smiled.
In the end, they decided to watch Season One of Doctor Who, more specifically, "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances," because they were fond of both episodes.
"Don't you wish it could be real?" Olivia smiled as she stood up to turn off the DVD player.
Sapphire didn't reply , and her friend turned to see a far away look in those deep blue orbs.
"Are you alright?" Olivia asked.
"I wish the nanogenes were real, then they could fix me up, and I'd be okay," was the reply.
Olivia was somewhat confused, and opened her mouth to ask what she meant when the strangest sound filled the air.
It was a metallic, grinding sound, and the two girls grinned at each other.
"IT'S THE TARDIS!" They whisper-shouted to each other, before running for the front door, and flung it open as quietly as possible.
The light of the moon outside lit up the lawn, and to the relief of the two girls, the rain had long since ceased its spell. They then remembered why they had run outside in the first place, and to their delight, they had soon located that magic blue box.
"Something old, something new," Olivia said.
"Something borrowed, something..." Sapphire started to say, but was interrupted by a man's voice.
"ACHOO!" He sneezed, and both girls nearly wet themselves laughing.
"Um, I think the actual word is " blue"" a young woman chuckled.
Introductions were made, and after realising that Sapphire and Olivia had been on the Titanic in another world, both the Doctor and Rose let them come with them for many adventures thorough time... And space.
AN: So, this is the prologue to my second story with Sapphire and Olivia, but my first with Doctor Who in this series. The Doctor is the Tenth, because he's my "doctor." Who is your favorite doctor from Doctor Who? Anyway, just one last thing to say: HAPPY NEW YEAR!
