Chapter 1 - Lion Attack
The herd was on the move, going south. Sid was being annoying as usual.
He was begging Manny for a rest stop, but all Manny did was push him off his foot.
"Manyyyyy, please!" Sid pleaded.
"No."
"Please."
"No."
"When are you gonna stop bothering me?" Manny asked, annoyed.
"Please."
"No!"
"Well, maybe Sid's right, Manny. We could all use a rest stop," Ellie said to stop Sid from pestering her mate.
"Oh alright, but only 10 minutes," Manny said in a defeated tone.
After hearing the conversation, Diego went to look for a spot to take a nap for a while, until the twins came.
Crash kept shooting out pebbles from his dart shooter and yelled out,"Can't catch us tigey-wigey!" shaking his butt at Diego. After a second or two, the possums were running from the sabre-tooth and climbed up a tree for safety.
Meanwhile...
Sid was walking towards a berry bush when he heard soft rustling of leaves. He looked behind him but there was no one. Then he heard a low growl. He wondered if it was just Diego. He felt a chill run down his spine.
"Diego, is that you?" There was no answer and Sid started to get worried. Then out of nowhere, a lioness appeared and chased Sid. She was gaining on him, until Diego pounced on her.
"Woohoo! Go get her Diego!" Sid cheered.
Diego knocked her out, until a bear came to defend her. The bear stood high and lifted his paw, ready to smack Diego, until Manny came out of the blue to see what was the commotion about and pinned the bear to a tree and was also knocked out.
Sid heard another faint rustle and were ready to see what was gonna come out. A young, grey wolf came out with a buckskin stallion. His mane was black and so were the half of his legs.
The wolf nudged the unconscious creatures and glared at the herd.
"What did you do to them?" he asked furiously after another quick glance at the two.
"Why do you care?" Crash asked the wolf.
"Because they're my friends and that includes the horse," he said in a friendlier tone, showing he cared for them.
"Cool, these guys here are my friends and we're a family," Eddie said pointing at the herd.
"Oh, that's great at least my herd isn't the only one that's strange," the wolf said in a normal friendly voice, while putting the knocked-out lioness on his back.
"I'm sorry for what Robin did," he said, referring to the lioness. "She hasn't eaten for days, but once you get to know her, I think everything will go fine between you guys."
"Almost forgot," the wolf continued. "My name's Kyo, the bear is Aaron, the horse is Spirit, and don't ask how he got his name. The lioness on me is Robin. And there are more of us. There's Spirit's mate, Rain, and also don't ask how she got that name. There's a bear cub. His name is Andre, Flint a teenage bull mammoth, two weasels, and they're twins, fraternal twins. The girl is Brielle. The boy is Bree and we have a hawk named Glaze. And last but not the least, a she-sabertooth named Reneesme."
Sid and the others introduced themselves. Then they set off to meet the rest of Kyo's herd.
A/N: I don't care if horses didn't exist during the ice age during the Ice Age. In my fanfic, they do. Brielle is from Sky Sailing, Bree and Reneesme from Twilight.
