Hi, I'm maximum ride. Yes, the great invincible Maximum Ride. If your thinking 'she's not so great' well your wrong. Wanna know why? Well it might be 'cause I saved the world, but its probably 'cause I can kick your ass into next week. I'm just sayin'. Your probably also wondering why you haven't heard from me or my flock in a while. Well that's 'cause we're trying to be incognito 'n' stuff. Do you want to know were we are? Well normally I wouldn't tell you but our location is important to the story. Besides, by the time you read this we'll have been long gone. If were not then we hope Itex and or their followers is too stupid to look here. I mean they're idiots. They've been trying to capture us for three years. They succeeded only a handful of times. And look at were they're at now. Defeated by six teenage and younger bird kids that were they're creation. It's kind of funny. Enough with that back to whatever I was talking about.
Uuuummmmmmmmm… we've been living with my mother and Ella for the last two months. That's about enough time for my flock to start getting comfortable and start dropping their guard. I hate to admit it but I'm a little less paranoid too, just a LITTLE though.
So the summary is that we've moved in with mom and Ella. We're living in Arizona. This is the longest we've been any were since Itex came after us. The flock loves it. My mom thinks that there is something going on between Fang and me. There's not. The rest of the flock is becoming rebellious and bratty. I would have thought that they learned not to mess with me but nope they're going to see why you don't cross max ride really soon.
Iggy and Nudge are doing the cute middle school dating thing. You know the sitting together and holding hand but when anyone comments on it, they blush bright red. I can't say whether my mom approves. Either way it's cute. I laugh whenever I get them to blush it's become a sort of game between the rest of the flock plus Ella to see who can make either of them blush the most. Ironically, Fang usually wins. You're probably thinking 'Fang win a game that includes talking' well he can make nudge blush by just raising an eyebrow. It's rather amazing.
We're all two years older than the last time we had a book published. Fang Iggy and I are all thirteen now. I can now use my super speed on the ground. I'm telekinetic. I move stuff with my mind it's fun. Iggy can see stuff against a white background. He can also control fire, not too much fun, for me anyway. Fang can walk while invisible and can manipulate shadows. Fang and I both can breathe under water. Nudge is thirteen and is her magnetic skill is awesome. She can do almost anything she wants to with a metal object. Gazzy is ten and can build any mechanical object he wants to as if he has blue prints in his mind. Angel my baby is eight. She is empathic now. So she could basically take over the entire world. It's really scary but it's true.
Mom went on a work trip to Port Angel, Washington. She wanted us to think that that is all it was but we all know that she also saw some guy she'd been dating. I don't know his name and I don't really care. I do know that they had met at a single parent conference thing. I only know 'cause Nudge and Ella think it's really romantic. I don't. When she got back, she was wearing a diamond ring. The next morning she called a family meeting. She said she had something important to tell us. I'm pretty sure we all knew what she was going to tell us er guessed. I was wrong. Yes, me, the Max Ride, admit to being wrong.
