Hi Guys! I love cute father-daughter moments, hence this fic. And for some reason Rose is really appealing to me at the moment. Anyway, here you go!
A twenty-four year old May was on a business trip for the Pokémon committee. The brunette hated being there, but she didn't really have a choice. It was seven-thirty in the afternoon and she was waiting for the train she would catch back to PetalBurg at seven-forty-five. She sat on a stool in-front of the video phone, currently talking with her husband of five years.
"So, how did you go sleeping in a king-sized bed by yourself?" she asked teasingly.
The grassy haired man smirked at her. "Well, at first it was difficult, then someone was knocking at the door. So, I opened it and there was a beautiful princess standing there, looking scared. She asked if she could sleep with me, so I obliged." He studied May's face. Seeing her furious expression he quickly added, "Only sleeping! We didn't do anything else!"
May's expression softened the slightest bit, showing that she was still angry at him, just a little less so. "And who was this 'Princess'?" She used finger quotes while saying princess.
Drew looked at her sapphire eyes, even through the screen he could tell she was scared and confused, she was just hiding it with anger.
"She never said her name and quickly left as Rose woke up," he said, watching her expression show more confusion. "You're coming home tonight, right?" She nodded in response. "She'll probably come back again tonight, and if you're quiet you should be able to see her," he said with the slightest hint of fondness in his voice.
Her scowl softened enough so that she could smile at him, not a toothy grin, just a small smile. "Bye, I've got to go and catch the train."
Drew smiled back, then he smirked. "Try not to be late June."
Her scowl returned. "Shut up Grasshead!"
"I love you too, May," he sighed and rubbed his temples. "And I wasn't joking, get going before you're late."
May had finally arrived home at twevle-ten in the morning, after walking to the train station, sitting on a train for four hours and getting a taxi. She fumbled with her keys. She was trying to be quiet like Drew said, but it was difficult with a back pack and a suitcase you don't want to put on the wet ground. She managed to get the correct key in the lock and turn it, she opened the door and put her luggage down and closed and re-locked the door. She quietly made her way upstairs to her and Drew's bedroom.
Slowly opening the door saw her husband and another figure lying on the yellow quilted bed. The cot was still in the corner of the room, the small, one-year old, chocolate haired boy sleeping inside.
The two on the bed were cuddled together. One was much larger than the other, both had the same shade of green hair and the same shaped eyes. In the arms of the short girl was a small budew Poké-Doll. Drew's arms were around her, holding her close to his chest. The sheets were pushed down around her feet as if she had kicked them down. Her mouth was slightly agape, as was Drew's. Her hair was spread out around her but kept the familiar parted style.
She really was a princess just like Drew had said. She understood why he said she left when Rose woke up. Rose, her three-year-old, first-born and only daughter, was scared because her mother was gone, and had asked to sleep with her father to feel safe. May smiled at the touching scene, before she realised Drew had managed to make her jealous of her own daughter! She would have a long talk to him in the morning.
