The Flame That Gave Darkness

As Sophie was in Fintan's mind for longer, I got increasingly nervous. Because she was a Telepath, she could read peoples' minds, and she was the only elf that could heal a mind broken from depression or more common, guilt, which is what she was healing Fintanfrom. Criminal or not, my fellow Councilors thought we should heal him. Daring move, maybe the most daring since we cancelled the Human Assistance Program.

Endlessly, Sophie and Fintan stayed in the exact same position, not moving a muscle. Finally, Fintan moved—but not in a good way. Guaranteeing me, Oralie (another Councilor) Fitz, Sophie (they are Cognates, meaning they are partners and both are Telepaths), Alden, Tiergan, and Councilor Terik (yet another member of the Council) a fate that, trust me, is not good: he was waking up, and Sophie wasn't aware of it. Half conscious, Fintanstarted summoning Everblaze, a type of flame that only a Pyrokinetic could summon. I knew what was going to happen. Just a matter of time until the whole building went up in the unstoppable flame. Kingdoms have fallen to Everblaze. Letting those I care about meet the same fate was too horrifying to imagine. My instincts took over, charging me towards Oralie. "No one will die," I whispered to her and myself. Only one person wasn't aware of the start of the fire: Sophie. Parts of the building were already going up in flames. Quickly pulling Oralie away from the growing fire, I yelled to Fitz, "Run and take Sophie! She's still in Fintan's head!"

Taking Sophie's hand, Fitz transmitted something into her mind. Under our feet, I could hear the other Councilors scrambling to an exit. Very recklessly, I charged towards Sophie and Fitz (Fitz couldn't get Sophie out of Fintan's mind), shoving them towards Oralie. Waiting for nothing, I sprinted towards Fintan. Xanthic-white flames erupted from his body. "You are too late," is what he said to me the last I talked to him. Zero sense is what it made back then, but before I could fully understand it, a searing pain filled my body as flames erupted from Fintan, scorching me, and then a never-ending darkness surrounded me.

(A/N) So did anyone figure out why it was so cringe? I had to write each sentence with the letter of the alphabet. The first sentence started with "a," the next one with "b," etc. etc.. It was a school project. And sorry it was so short :( So... byeee!
