Jace and Alec walked the halls of the institute. It had been a quiet day in the institute: no downworlder activity and no demon attacks. It was odd, but none of the shadowhunters complained. Having a day off was rare, and with the war, there were no breaks. But that wasn't the case for Alec and Jace.

Jace and Alec were going to meet with the Seelie Queen to get information on Valentine. It was no secret that she had sided with him. The Seelie's had stopped helping the Shadowhunters, and some Shadowhunters had gone missing.

Alec walked a few paces behind Jace. No one but Izzy, Clary, Simon, Jace, Alec, and Sebastian knew about the mission to the court. Alec knew that there were spies in the Clave, and he only trusted a few people. Alec didn't trust Sebastian, but the hunter had saved Isabell's life, and she trusted him.

Jace and Alec made their way to the weapons room, where Sebastian, Izzy, and Clary were waiting. Jace opened the weapons vault and grabbed his seraph blade and some other knives. Alec grabbed his bow and quiver.

"Let me come with you," Izzy asked Alec. It wasn't necessarily a request but a demand, "You need all the help you can get."

"And what if its a trap?" Alec said, irritated. Izzy had been begging him all morning about the mission, she was as bad as Max, "Look, I know that you're a great fighter. But I need someone I trust here at the institute."

"What about Clary you trust her."

"Izzy-" Alec said in a warning voice, "I'm putting you and Clary in charge. I know you won't let me down." Isabella hugged her older brother. Izzy hated being left out of missions. All her life she had gone on missions with Jace and Alec. "Hey. We'll be back before you know it."

"Alec, activate you accuracy rune." Jace said as he endurance rune, "Izzy, I'll make sure Alec come's home in one piece." Jace smiled at her. Alec nudged Jace on the shoulder as he activated his rune.

"Don't worry Clary; I'll make sure this ass comes back."

"What about in one piece?"

"If the Seelies don't kill you, I just might." Jace smiles at his parabatai and then heads toward the door of the institute. "Will be back later. Don't destroy the institute while I'm gone." Alec called back to his sister. Jace and Alec were going into enemy territory not knowing what would happen.

Jace and Alec walk through Central Park in silence. It was a sunny day, and mundanes were enjoying a day in the park. Alec was kind of envious of them. They didn't have to worry about demons and the war. They only had to worry about bills and other stupid things. But still, Alec didn't understand them. Mundanes were a mystery to him.

"Alec?" Jace asked concerningly. Alec was snapped out of his daydream and looked at Jace. "Did you hear me?"

"Would you believe me if I said yes?"

"No, I wouldn't," Jace said giving a small chuckle. "Are you sure you're up for this mission? Ever since you and Magnus had your fight, you haven't been the same."

"I'm fine. I was thinking about leaving Izzy, with Sebastian."

"Look Izzy is brave, she can handle herself. And Sebastian isn't a bad guy."

"Look, Jace, I know that you trust him, but I don't. How is it Izzy was attacked by a greater demon, and he happens to show up. It doesn't feel right." Alec and Jace arrived at the entrance of the Seelie kingdom. As they walked up, they saw Meliorn waiting for them with other Seelie knights.

"Alec Lightwood and Jace Herondale, welcome. If you could hand over all your weapons." Meliorn asked Jace shifted on his feet. Alec and Jace had both glamoured their weapons where no one could see them. "Don't think that us Seelies are fools. Shadowhunters never go anywhere without weapons." Jace unstrapped his seraph blade and pulled out his small knife in his boot. Alec handed over his bow and quiver but kept his stele concealed. "Now, follow me."

Meliorn leads the way into the Seelie realm. Alec and Jace had two knights surrounding them both. This bothered Alec. As they walked into the Seelie realm, they noticed more guards than usual. Alec saw Jace tense as they walked into the court. The Seelie Queen sat on her throne, with two guards on either side of her. Meliorn lead Alec and Jace to the center of the room.

"Master Herondale and Master Lightwood, to what do I owe the pleaser?" The Seelie Queen asked. She looked like a 13-year-old girl, but that never fooled anyone. She may look 13, but she was old and clever. "You should know that it is unwise for Shadowhunters to enter my realm." The Queen paused and saw that her guards were holding their weapons, "And unarmed."

"We want to ask you some questions," Jace said, his voice was calm, and there wasn't a hint of fear. Alec wished he was better at hiding his emotions, but since he and Magnus broke up, he had been a mess. "We do not wish harm upon you and your people."

"Does the Clave know that you're here?"

"No," Alec said speaking up, Jace just looked at him. Jace was shocked that Alec had said that. "The Clave doesn't know we are here."

"What do you wish to know?"

"Where is Valentine?"
