A/N: Hey guys! I did my original Dear Diary for the shipping NaLu in February, and I was continuing my other series when I thought, why not do another Dear Diary? But, for another shipping. So I thought about it a little and decided to do...GaLe! I love GaLe and had a lot of fun writing this story! This is actually going to be a two parter because it ended up being so long. I hope you enjoy!

Levy shut her eyes tight. "ARGH!", she cried in frustration.

A bulky man with long spiky hair came running down the stairs. "Levy! Are you all right?".

She managed a nod, but he clearly wasn't buying it.

"What's hurting, squirt?", he asked.

"What do you think is wrong!", she asked annoyed.

"Right, right, calm down.", Gajeel said cautiously. She was getting crabbier by the day.

"I don't know what you're talking about! I'm totally calm!", she said, clearly not calm.

"Okay, yeah, you're totally calm.", he said sarcastically, but before she could huff, he continued, "I'm going to go on that day job with Natsu and Gray. I'll be back in time for your checkup. You just sit down, and read your book. And don't MOVE.", he said forcibly.

He shook his head as he remembered the last time he had gone on a day job.

"Yeah, yeah.", she said annoyed. It was boring just sitting around. Maybe she'd call Lucy to come over for some tea or something. If she wasn't too busy with Nashi.

Her eyes widened when she realized who he was going with. "Wait, bring Erza along with you.'.

"What? Why?", he asked, his voice going up, a teansy bit higher. He tried to hide it, but she knew he was just as scared of Erza as the rest of them were.

"The last time Natsu and Gray went on a job together, was right after the Grand Magic Games. You remember how that turned out don't you?", she asked him.

He nodded. last time, those to idiots spent three days brawling each other after their mission was over. The girls, worried, went to go check on them and they even managed to punch Erza. Although, she did beat them up pretty bad that they would never mention it again.

"And with you, things are only going to get worse. I wish I could say they have matured, but let's be honest. I don't know how Juvia and Lucy handle them, when I can barely handle you!", Levy said.

He rolled his eyes. "I'm not that bad.".

She raised her eyebrows. "Yeah, sure. You're not that bad.", she said sarcastically.

He shook his head. "Just...Just be safe.".

He turned and closed the door as she smiled. Sometimes he let out the soft side in him.

Levy yawned, and sighed. She was bored, and she had finished her book.

There was still one more hour before Gajeel returned.

She glance at her dusty bookshelf. A little cleaning can't hurt, right?

She smiled and started lovingly dusting her books when she reached a small box.

Curious, she took the box of the shelf and opened it. Inside was a black leather moleskin journal. There were little spiked coming out of it.

She opened it and to her surprise she saw there was writing in it.

This can't be mine, I'm a terrible writer. I've never written before...does that mean it's Gajeel's?

Yes, there was no doubt in her mind it was Gajeel. Who else would have picked this weird black notebook.

She opened it up and saw that the date was March 27.

"No way! That's...", she breathed, walking back to her armchair with her new book in her hand. She began to read.

A/N: This next section is what Levy reads, the only difference is that she reads it in Gajeel's perspective and I'm writing it in third person! :)

Gajeel Redfox was not a sentimental man. He wasn't good with feelings or emotions. He wasn't good at recognizing them or showing them. But this one, this one he could recognize.

Levy McGarden had changed his life. In away, it was ironic how the person he attacked, almost killed, became the most important person in his life.

They were close yes, but weren't dating. He was worried that he was skipping a step.

Natsu and Lucy were dating. Gray and Juvia were as well. So were Mira and Lauxus and some more, but he felt that they were close enough without dating.

He knew the proper way, at least according to Levy's stories, were to date first, but he didn't think they needed it. He decided he needed to talk to someone.

His first thought went to Mira. She was the love expert. But then he immediately scratched it out. She would definitely make him feel awkward with her comments about how cute he and Levy would look together.

Then he went through his choices until he arrived at Lucy. She was her best friend after all.

He made up his mind and walked towards her.

"Hm? Oh, hi Gajeel!", she said cheerfully as he sat down next to her.

"Hey, look, I want to ask you about how to..er..um...well...you see...er..um...Levy...thinking dinner...um...too cliche...", he stammered, trying to blurt it out, but couldn't.

Her eyes widened with shock!

"YES!", she yelled out. The whole guild turned to them and Gajeel felt his face turning a dark red. And Mira giving him a knowing smile wasn't helping.

"Uh, sorry, but you're going to propose to Levy!", Lucy said excitedly. "Hah! I called it. In your face, Gray! He owes me one months rent worth of jewels!".

"What?", Gajeel asked.

"Uh, nothing. Just Cana's be-You know what, never mind. What did you want to talk to me about.", she asked.

"Well, we haven't really ever dated. And you and everyone else are dating. I think...I'm worried I'm skipping a step.", he confessed.

"Gajeel, there's no point waiting when you know something's meant to be. Go for it. Trust me, Levy's going to be overjoyed.", she smiled.

Gajeel sighed, a little wait was lifted of his chest. "Now, my next issue, how to do it.".

"Think about why you love Levy. Think about what represents her. Think about why you two should go together. Remember why you love her. Just speak from your heart, you'll be fine. Trust me.", she said.

He nodded. "Next, I need to figure out what I have to do to propose.".

"Well, for the best answer to that question...I'd ask a guy. See what they would do. I think if I told you what to do, Levy would definitely know.".

He nodded again. Who do I ask? Natsu? No way, he's so clueless. Probably more than me. Gray? I could give him a try.

He found his way across the hall to where the ice mage was casually standing, his shoulders against the wall.

"What's up with you?", he asked, seeing the blank expression on the ice mage's face.

"Well, now that Natsu's gone out shopping, it's pretty boring around here. Not to mention Juvia's on a job...", he sighed.

"Shopping? Salamander's gone shopping? Why on Mavis would he need to do that?", Gajeel snorted.

"So he could buy a ring.", he said nonchalantly.

"A ring?".

"Yeah, he's proposing to Lucy in like a month. But I think he's going to chicken out and do it like a year from now. I don't know why he's so nervous. She's obviously going to say yes. Oh...he said not to tell anybody. Oops.", he said, shrugging.

"Wait, what! You need a ring to propose? Why didn't anybody tell me this.", Gajeel said.

Gray rolled his eyes. "You're just like Natsu. I guess dragon slayers are just stupid.", he said.

Gajeel did not like being called similar to Natsu. "Hey, that's not true!", he said.

"Right...no, you're actually right. Wendy had twice the intelligence of you, Natsu, Sting and Rogue put together. Cobra's not that stupid though...", he trailed off.

"Anyway, I don't have time for this. Tell me about the ring!".

"Right, you're proposing to Levy aren't you?", he asked.

Gajeel stared at him. "How did you know?".

"Lucy's shout. Why else would she scream like that?", he said nonchalantly.

Gajeel gritted his teeth and sighed. "Fine, just tell me what to do.".

"Just go to the ring shop and pick out a ring that reminds you of her. That's what Jellal told me to do, and I did. It worked out fine, but it cost a heck load of jewels. Now that I owe Lucy her rent, I'm going to be broke.", he said.

"What do you mean, ''you did''?", I asked him. It was his turn to be embarrassed.

He turned the shade of Salamander's hair.

"N-Nothing.", he stammered.

"Surprised. You managed to keep a secret from Juvia. Consider me impressed.", he said.

"Yeah, well. I couldn't get past Mira though. We had an hour long forced discussion including me, her and Erza.", he said sheepishly.

"Anyway, I better go. Where's this ring shop?", Gajeel asked.

Gray gave the directions and Gajeel was about to ask why he owes Lucy money when Natsu came smashing through the guild hall.

"Come out of hiding, Ice prick!", the voice called and an all out brawl took place.

Gajeel decided to leave before Erza got into the mix.
