'A person whom you are related to'

After Leonard and Penny's wedding and the whole thing with their parents, they all tried to forget about that weird 'did they' moment between Leonard's dad and Sheldon's mom.

But Mary and Alfred both felt lonely being alone in Texas and New Jersey, respectably, they decided to change things.

Alfred moved in to Mary's house a year after their meeting. They both decided to keep their relationship a secret from everyone until the right time.

When Mary found out about Sheldon's marriage to Amy and received the invite, she wrote there that she would be attending it, but wouldn't be alone.

That caused some surprise when Amy read it but she decided not to make a big deal out of it.

They flew a week to make sure everyone was okay with was going on before the wedding day. When they got to the apartment 4A they knocked on the door and Penny was the one that answered.

"Hey! What are you doing here today? The wedding's in a week." She said while hugging Alfred and Mary.

"I know sweetie but we…" Mary then stops talking and looks to Alfred. "Is my son home?"

"No. But your son is" Penny says looking at Alfred. "Want to come in?"

"Sure" They both answer.

They sit down on the couch and Penny went to her bedroom to call her husband. When he got to the living room and greeted them, Mary and Alfred looked at each other and decided to tell Leonard and Penny about their relationship.

"We… we need to tell you something." Alfred starts

"Let me guess. You're together?" Leonard asks.

Penny looks at Leonard proudly, knowing that a couple of years ago he wouldn't know. She thought about it, but she wasn't sure. Mary and Alfred look at each other – again.

"Yes. For a year now."

"Okay. Congratulations. I'm happy for the both of you, but how do you think Sheldon's going to take it? Because I think he's going to freak out. And he's already freaking out with the wedding."

"That's why we came earlier. To prepare him." Mary said

"And you. But you seem okay with it." Alfred said, laughing

They all stared at each other, almost afraid to say something. Penny broke the silence

"Are you two serious with this relationship?"

"Alfred and I we're serious about this. We are living together. Alfred actually proposed to me the other day. I said yes. We're getting married tomorrow. That's why we're here. We got someone who could marry us in a church, a simple thing. The only thing that's left is telling Shelly. Of everything I think this is the one that's more complicated." Mary said.

Leonard and Penny stared at them for what seemed hours but was actually just a minute.

"Yo-you are getting married tomorrow!?" Leonard asks, surprised.

"Yes. We are. And we think it's the right thing to do. Are you two coming to the wedding? Can we count on the two of you?"

"Of course!" Penny says. She was loving the thought of Alfred and Mary being married. Leonard not so much.

"Hold on. I'm fine with the two of you being together, sleeping under the same roof. I'm honestly totally fine with it. But, marriage!? You are getting married?"

"Yes" Alfred answers.

"I can't believe this. I need some air." Leonard says, getting up and opening the door.

"Leonard…" Penny starts

"Don't start!" and with that Leonard leaves

Penny excuses herself and goes after Leonard that was on the roof.

"Leonard. What was all of that about?"

Leonard was leaning on a wall looking at the city. He turned around ready to answer her but he didn't know how to say it. She got closer to him and stared at him. They hugged and stayed there for a while. They stopped the embrace and started to look at the city. Leonard decided he was ready to talk.

"I'm not sure how to feel about this wedding thing." Penny looked at him like she wasn't understanding what he meant. "When my mom told me they were getting a divorce I was fine with it. I mean, ever since I was a kid that I knew they weren't okay. But I was waiting for the moment they were getting the divorce. When the moment arrived I realized I wasn't okay with it but I had to. But now? Mary is like a second mom. Way better than my first mom!" He said smiling. "I'm scared my dad decides to get a divorce from Mary. I actually like them together I don't want them to break up."

"Leonard, they might not break up. If they want to get married there's nothing we can do about it. Sheldon might do something about it, but we won't. We will support them. Okay?"

"Sure."

"They'll be fine. Don't worry. Now, come on. We have some people down stairs that need help."

Leonard and Penny get downstairs to their apartment when they hear yelling.

"It's coming from our apartment." Penny whispers.

They get inside and see Amy in the kitchen preparing a snack for herself and Sheldon standing next to his mom. He keeps telling her she's making a big mistake and that only crazy people marry Hofstadter's. Penny laughs and pats Leonard on the shoulder.

"He's right, you know? Only crazy people marry Hofstadter's." She keeps laughing, and Leonard rolls his eyes.

"Sheldon?! SHELDON!" Sheldon finally shuts up and looks at Leonard

"What?"

"Look, even though Penny agrees with part of you speech" he says looking at Penny that is sitting on his desk chair covering her mouth "Just let them be happy. Seriously, don't you want your mom to be happy?"

"Of course I do. But not with him!" Sheldon says, pointing at Alfred.

"Okay. I said this once, I'll say it again and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last time I'll say it but here it is, Amy's a saint for putting up with you!"

Sheldon storms off to his apartment and Amy, which was busy eating popcorn, sighs and goes after him.

"Amy. Go eat, I'll talk to him."

"Are you sure?"

"No."

Leonard leaves his apartment and goes to the apartment 4B. He raises his hand to knock but decides to just open the door. He finds Sheldon sitting on the couch, clearly upset.

"Sheldon?"

"Leave me alone"

"No. I'm not doing that. What's wrong? I know this has nothing to do with your mom being together with my dad. He is not the problem. What is it?"

"I don't want my mother to marry someone else. I want her to always be my dad's wife."

Leonard sits down next to Sheldon and takes a deep breath.

"Look, buddy, your dad's been gone for a few years now. Don't you think it's time for your mom to move on?"

Sheldon stares at Leonard.

"No. If you or Penny dies do you think that your child would be okay with one of you getting married to someone else? Or if Howard or Bernadette? What would Halley do? I think she would be upset. Like I am."

"I don't think this is about Alfred. This is about you and Amy, isn't it?"

"No. I just don't want my mom to get hurt like she did when my dad died." Sheldon looks at Leonard "Okay. Maybe it is because of me and Amy. I'm scared she'll just be with someone else if I die. I want her to be happy, but I don't think I want her to move on. If she loves someone else, enough to marry that person, did she truly love me?"

"I don't know, buddy. Look, instead of thinking about that, think that in a week you'll be marrying Amy."

Sheldon smiles when he starts to think about calling Amy his wife. And then it hits him.

"Tomorrow we will be half-brothers!"

Leonard laughs at Sheldon's comment.

"Yeah. But, I already consider you a brother. So, you'll be my brother and a half" he joked

Sheldon looks at Leonard, not believing the fact that he actually found the joke funny and went to the other apartment to apologize to his mother, leaving Leonard sitting alone in the 4B

When the day arrived, Leonard woke up because he thought there was someone looking at him. He wasn't mistaken.

"SHELDON!"

Penny wakes up and looks at Sheldon already dressed into his suit and then glances to her husband that is looking for his glasses. She looks at the watch and sees it's already 9:30. They had one hour to be in the church that was half an hour from the apartment.

"You're late. Hurry up" and with that, Sheldon leaves the room, Leonard and Penny jump out of bed, dress and have breakfast that Amy made them in less than twenty minutes.

"Record!" Penny screams, making herself laugh while the other three stare at her. "Let's just go."

They got there quickly, having almost no traffic that day.

The wedding passed quickly but to Leonard and Sheldon it felt like it had been 84 years since they last saw the outside.

After that day, Sheldon and Leonard were related. And were brothers and a half!

The End
