Really, I get to star in my own fanfiction?!

Yes, yes I got tired of hearing you complain Chris.

All Right! Whoo hoo! My Own Story!

Sigh. Alright let's get on with the story. On another note the island that our conquering hero finds himself on is the equivalent of a solo ARK server.

ARK: Survival Zeroed

"Talking"

'Thinking'

Ch 1

What is the void? Is it the wellspring of life? Is it an emptiness where everything goes when it dies? What we do know for sure is that it is as unpredictable as the mages that wield it. Some go mad because of the power it gives them. Some even get thrown out of their families due to their inability to harness it in a timely manner. Yet others believe that control of the rare elemental affinity gives them right to rule over their fellow man. It has also been observed that they all summon human familiars often of the opposite gender to their masters, often leading to marriages between the master and the familiar. There is also the fact that there is never more than four void mages at a time though there can be as few as one dependent on the strength of the wielders affinity for the element. We will be focusing on one such mage that has succeeded or failed at her endeavors dependent upon what familiar she summoned in that particular parallel dimension. In this realm her familiar has been summoned from one of the core worlds were pretty much every other realm is seen as fiction. This ought to be interesting.

We were given two hands to hold, two legs to walk, two eyes to see, two ears to listen, but why only one heart? Because the other one was given to someone for us to find. I have heard this from my parents all my life and frankly I had given up hope until a green portal opened up under me as I left the store with a certain game disk in hand.

Louise Vallière was desperate because up to this point she had been seen as a magical failure since she began her training at the age of ten. She was now seventeen and much to her chagrin the smallest girl in her age group. This was her last chance to prove that she was in fact a mage before she was denied that part of herself.

"Ok so that's the last of them?" Mr. Colbert the fire professor asked the crowd of students. Louise stood at the back of the crowd hoping to be missed but her most incessant tormentor wouldn't let it go.

"Professor there is still one that hasn't gone." A red headed student called.

"Alright miss Zerbst who did we forget?" Professor Colbert asked.

"Miss Vallière has yet to take her turn." Miss Zerbst answered.

"Well them Miss Vallière come forward." Colbert commanded.

"Couldn't you leave well enough alone Zerbst?" Louise growled out as she passed her Nemesis.

"It wouldn't do for a Zerbst to not have a worthy rival Vallière." Zerbst answered.

Standing at the summoning circle Louise took a deep breath to calm herself before she held her wand in front of her beginning her chant. "I beg of you... My slave who lives somewhere in the universe! Oh sacred, beautiful and strong familiar spirit! I desire and here I plead from my heart! Answer to my guidance! AND APPEAR!" When she finished there was nothing. No explosion, no flash of light, nothing.

"Well this just makes all that you said last night worth it." Zerbst said as she held her side while she and the rest of the class where laughing uncontrollably.

Louise collapsed to her knees her eyes tearing up as she sat there defeated. "Why me? Why?" She whispered to herself as a single tear slid down her cheek and landed on the summoning circle causing it to light up with a blinding light forcing everyone to shield their eyes.

When the light dimmed the students looked up and saw that where Louise was kneeling all that remained was her clothes. Zerbst looked on in horror because she hadn't meant for this to happen. All she had been doing was drawing a reaction from the youngest Vallière.

OOooOO

Louise awoke after she blacked out, blearily looking around she noticed that she was on a beach. She heard a rumble that was getting closer. She looked up in the direction she felt it coming from and looked up and up and up and saw someone sitting on the back of the giant armored lizard.

"Oh, finally! The one who summoned me into this forsaken place. The great Louise Vallière, Void mage extraordinaire and all around, at the moment, useless individual. I, your great, sacred, beautiful, and strong familiar spirit, have appeared. Even though according to the game parameters you should find your own way, I, in my infinite wisdom, have decided to help you, starting with this." The man on the back of the lizard ranted before tossing her the coarse grey cloak that adorned his shoulders.

Catching the cloak Louise took the time to look down and screamed in shock realizing that she was naked. Screaming in shock she covered herself with the cloak. "What do you mean void mage? There hasn't been a void mage since Brimr."

"Actually, that's where you're wrong. I'm positive there have been numerous void mages since Brimr, it's just that the stupid catholics controlled the information so that the sheeple would assume that there's only been one void mage in six millenia."

"But, but, but." Louise said while her brain tried to process what she had just been told while the man dismounted the monster lizard. "That's not possible. And where are we? Who are you?"

"Ugh, I already introduced myself, why didn't you listen?" The person said facepalming, "Wait, I never did say my name, did I?" He looked up slapping his fist onto his open hand, then stuck it out. "My name is Christopher Robertson. My friends and family call me Chris."

"Uh Louise nice to meet you." Louise said uncertainly as she tentatively took Chris's hand. "Now where are we?"

"When your summoning circle appeared under me, I had just left my local gamestop after I had picked up a copy of the game 'ARK: Survival Evolved'. We are now in that game." Chris answered, then added cheerfully. "Any questions?"

"You mean I was successful?" Louise asked her eyes shining with hope as she let go of the cloak allowing it to fall.

"Of course you were. Partially at least, by the way, did you know that you had no clothes on?" Chris asked.

Louise looked down and shrieked again as she tried covering herself while reaching around for her wand.

"Here." He said picking up the cloak and draping it around her. "FYI, your wand didn't make it."

"But how can I survive without magic?" She asked her eyes beginning to water as clutched the cloak around her.

"Very easily. As your future husband, it is my duty to provide for you. Now shall we be off?" He asked.

"Future husband?" Louise asked cluelessly looking up at Chris is. "How is that possible?"

"As two individuals bound together for eternity, is that not the very definition of marriage?" He said then continued. "In fact there have been numerous examples of void mages summoning members of the opposite gender. Granted the only pair of differing gendered familiar and mage that I know personally is Mad King Joseph and his crazy girlfriend, but I'll not go into their relationship, and actually Joseph isn't mad or crazy, he's upset at the control that the Church has over the continent. In fact, when we leave here, I'll probably help him. After getting past the crazy look in his eye, I'm sure he's actually a pretty interesting guy."

"You're insane." Louise stated with a flat expression.

"Sanity is a state of mind, the way I see it, everyone around me is insane." Chris said nonchalantly.

"I've been saddled with a nut-case for a familiar." Louise said to herself. "There's no other explanation."

"That would be squirrels, crazy little monsters, running around, pretending to be all cute and all. I will not be fooled by your faux innocence, I see through it." Chris said with a wild look in his eyes.

"Ok please calm down." Louise said as she looked nervously at the giant lizard. "Your mount is getting agitated."

"Josephine, it's alright, no need to get worked up yet." He said dismissively. "By the way Josephine here is a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Just for your information that is."

"Um ok." Louise said as that information meant nothing to her.

"Seeing as there's not much else to do and I know you don't have a place to stay, why don't we chill at my place." He said picking her up, bridal style.

"Wait a minute. Can't we talk about this?" Louise stammered out her face a bright red as Chris easily climbed onto Josephine's back.

"We could, but I'd prefer to do it at home, you know less things that'll eat us there." Chris said.

"Oh ok." Louise mumbled covering her red face with the cloak.

"And now it's raining, lovely." Chris said looking at the sky as a light drizzle started to fall.

A short time later found them arriving at a small group of buildings that held his residence as well as the pens for the other dinosaurs that he had tamed.

"So, you can go in there and do your thing, I've got stuff out here to do." Chris said pointing to the other side of the fort.

Louise nodded as she walked over to the door that was clearly for the residential part of the fort.

"Seriously, this is like some kind of weird fanfiction, wouldn't you agree, George?" Chris asked the stegosaurus.

George grunted as he started eating the hay.

"Of course, that's what you said last time." Chris said. "I'll have you know that I would seriously enjoy being somewhere other than here. But then it is pretty cool that I can be here with all of you guys." He said as he looked around the pens to the other dinosaurs.

"Seeing as this is obviously some kind of weird fanfiction, there's obviously somebody reading this right now. So please, doing this is not as easy as it looks so I'd better not catch y'all trying this at home children." When he finished speaking the dinosaurs in the pens started making a ruckus. "Oh come on, I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to them." Chris said as he indicated the audience.

After he was finished outside he entered into his residence. "That looks adorable, too bad I didn't plan on you wearing my clothes." He said turning to the closet. Pulling out some clothes out he tossed them to her. "These will fit better."

"Um, these where the only ones I could find." Louise said blushing fingering the hem of the shirt that hung to mid-thigh.

"So cute, you can keep it, if you want, as sleep wear, I don't mind." Chris said slightly flustered.

"Um, ok." Louise said her still red face getting brighter. "Thanks for letting me stay here."

"Yeah, sure, no problem. Your room's there." Chris said pointing to a door stuttering.

"Yeah thanks." Louise mumbled as she left the room closing the door behind her.

"She's dangerous. I might not survive much longer." Chris said as he leaned against the wall.

OOooOOooOO

Finally I don't have to listen to Chris rambling for hours on end about wanting his own fanfiction instead of cameo appearances.

Unfortunately I can still hear you complaining.

Ack where did you come from? You're supposed to be in the story.

Are you kidding, this is the best time for a fourth wall break. Now, if I made a sixteenth wall break that would be awesome.

You do realize that two consecutive fourth wall breaks doesn't make a sixteen wall break. Just two fourth wall breaks.

I know, I just have to figure it out for a future chapter.

And we're out of here for this chapter please leave a review on the way out.
