Disclaimer: I don't own the rights to Doctor Who. I don't even pretend to have the kind of brilliance it takes to even imagine something as brilliant as Doctor Who. That being said, I do have a love for fan fiction, especially to write it. Be forewarned, I'm an avid Doctor/Rose shipper.

Inhaling sharply as sparks flew from the wiring he was adjusting on the TARDIS console, he shook his hand and his head, trying to clear those annoying lyrics from his mind. He'd heard the song recently in New York City outside a music store, and, though he didn't like Country music in general, he hadn't been able to keep this one from creeping into his thoughts. The slightly annoying twang of the singer's voice had invaded his subconscious somehow.

Taking a deep breath, he went back to his work on the console, alone in the universe again, but getting better all the time.
Author's Notes: For those that don't know, the song is "It's Getting Better All The Time" by Brooks and Dunn. I couldn't resist the urge to write this fic when I heard the song again (for the umpteenth time) a few weeks ago. Please review if you like it!
