Where was he? It had been a long time since he had found himself in this lonely dark room. He sensed that a long time had passed. What had happened? He sat for a while, dazed. Then he remembered, vaguely. They had been surrounded. They had fought. She had defended him as well as she could, but there were just too many. She had been knocked to the ground. He was now fighting for both of them. It was too much, he was so tired, and finally one of the men had gotten him. After that, he could not remember any more.
Suddenly, he realized she was missing. Where was she, what had happened to her? He shouted her name. She was gone. No. His beautiful little girl…where was she? He began to panic.
He remembered the day when she had hidden him from the soldiers. She saved him. She protected him, and from that day he had always felt indebted to her. But over time, those feelings of gratitude he felt for her became a stronger and different emotion. It was love.
He loved her. He spoiled her. He loved her style, the way she dressed. He bought her dresses, shoes, ribbons, and jewelry. Her red pigtails that she neatly curled into spirals and wore on the top of her head. And the way she always seemed so sad, cold, and indifferent. He could understand. She, like him, had led a hard life. But still he wanted to hold her and comfort her, make her smile. He wanted to make her happy. He would have done anything for her.
But now she was gone. He broke out of his prison and stepped outside. His long lost love was gone…but no. He would find her. He would. And once they were reunited, they would create a new world.
