And so there I was, standing there with no way back to the surface, no way out. As I looked down to see my pale reflection in the crystal clear water of the Seabed, a chill ran down my spine. Seeing the beautiful water ripple off of my standard issue Hunter boots, I looked back up, facing my destiny standing before me. I looked forwards, a long hallway standing before me. Taking a step down the hallway, I felt the water flow off of my legs as it splashed into the air. I had been leaving footprints behind me, but it didn't matter to me. I was set to achieving one thing and one thing only. I paused a moment, walking to my left. Pressing my hands to the glass, a light fog formed around them. I looked outside. The wildlife lived on as if nothing had happened to this twisted planet. The seawater was clearer than it had ever been in the past, as was my goal. I clenched my Kamui in my left hand and breathed in a deep breath. Little did I know, this was about to become the longest journey in my life.
I took a step down the hall, a step that seemed to last forever. Echoing through the Seabed, my footsteps came to the end as I reached a doorway. I examined the closed door before me for a way through, then reassuring myself to continue walking. The door opened with a silent mechanical hum, and I stepped through, grasping my kodachi* all the bit tighter. As I inched through the door, my faith in myself dropped, as a giant.squid approached me. Swinging its vicious tentacles (with blades on the end of course) at me, I dove left in due time, chunks of the Seabed's concrete bashed into the air. "This is like a God damn science fiction movie!" I said to myself, lunging at the creature. I flew at him in the air, drawing my Kamui behind me. I thrusted it at him with lightning speed, the blade penetrating his outer layer and coming out the other end. I removed my sword from the now dead freak of nature; swinging the blade, ridding it of the disgusting remains of the animal as it fell to the ground. I blinked, two more lunging at me from nowhere. Ducking quickly, I rolled aside as they crashed into each other, making a horrid noise. I jumped to my feet, slicing diagonally across the creature's front side. As the creature passed to the next life, the other one attacked, slicing a hole in my chest armor as I dodged. Standing back up, I pulled back my hand, thrusting it forwards through the animal's stomach. As its innards landed on the ground, I pulled my fist back to my side. "Three down, who knows how many more to go. Master, I'm coming," I said to myself as I closed my eyes to rest a moment. I was breathing heavily, but I knew if I was going to complete my mission, it was going to be more than slaying a few little Seabed scum.
