He was a fool, without question or fail. Everything in life, from the basics of ninjutsu, taijutsu and genjutsu, to academics of any and all standards (especially the academics!), he proved inadequate; all of which only furthered the lack of respect he gained from the villagers and fellow shinobi alike.
It hurt… to know that everywhere he turned, he would always be the social outcast, the one person that could not be accepted into society based upon everything he was, what he never wanted to be.
It pained him, every time he left the confines of his 'home' (or what could qualify as such), because he knew that he would only be on the receiving end of contempt, disheartening his hopes of ever making friends like a normal child would with every frosty glare that settled itself on him—was aimed solely at him.
The mockery, unrighteous jeering due to the differences between them, never failed to further isolate him from the harshness that was reality, making him feel… unwelcome… unwanted.
It was as if… they never wanted him to come out of his suffocating prison, like the village would be a much better place if his existence… simply slipped away into the darkness of the unseen—only known to be as such because people refused to look his way and see; see the suffering he was enduring; see the pain he was in.
He had no one…
And it would always be that way.
