I do not own KH2 or any of the characters used/mentioned here. Takes place sometime soon after the struggle championship during the KH2 prologue. Imagined 'slice of life' from DiZ's fabricated world. Somewhat random.

"Roxas?" the brown-haired girl asked him, one of her hands playing with a pleated braid. Her other braid hung down her back, her brunette bangs shifting to the side as she titled her head. Her green eyes were focused on Roxas as she placed a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it gently. "Are you okay?" she asked. A chubby boy nodded, his dark hair sticking up from above a headband.

"You've been acting strangely, Roxas," the chubby boy said. He shifted his weight from one sneakered foot to the other, looking oddly at Roxas. "Even Hayner's noticed." The blonde looked up at the mention of his name, a frown creasing his face.

"What about me?" he asked, an edgy tone in his voice. The chubby boy waved his hands in front of him, a sheepish look on his face.

"Nothing, Hayner. Just talking about the match you fought with Roxas," the boy said. The brunette girl nodded, her green eyes focused on the irritated light blonde.

"Right. Pence and I knew you two would be an even match. It was really close, right Roxas?" the girl asked. Roxas stared at the ground, his vibrant blue eyes fixed in concentration. "Right, Roxas?" the girl repeated. The chubby boy nudged him harshly, and Roxas looked up.

"Huh?" Roxas asked. Hayner sighed, rolling his dark eyes.

"You never listen to us, Roxas," Hayner said. Roxas looked back down at the ground.

"Did you guys…" Roxas began, hesitating for a moment, "see a guy here? On the struggle platform?" Pence's eyebrows furrowed.

"You mean Seltzer?" Pence asked. Roxas shook his head, short hair whipping across his face.

"The redhead," Roxas said, "and the guy dressed in red." Hayner let out an exasperated groan.

"I'm going to get us something to eat," Hayner informed them as he stood up, stretching his arms to the sides and strolling off. Olette smiled slightly at Roxas.

"He's just worried about you," she reassured him. Roxas glanced up. A disappointed look crossed Pence's face.

"You don't listen to us at all, do you?" the dark-haired boy asked. Roxas blinked slowly at him. Pence shook his head sadly. "Sorry, Roxas, but Hayner's got a point. If you have better things to do, just say so." Standing up and brushing the dirt off his jeans and jersey, Pence walked away and melded into the crowd.

"Roxas," Olette said, her voice soft and hesitant, "are you sure you saw them? It could have been a trick of the light-"

"No." Roxas's voice was firm. "I saw them." Olette's green eyes looked at him, studying him for a moment. She stood up, offering the boy a hand. Roxas ignored it, his eyes focused on the ground. The girl waited for a few minutes before heading off after the others.

It was a lonely life being the only one who saw things that didn't exist.
