The Cat in The Stable

Today was a busy day. Bethlehem was buzzing with people because of this census and the inn is full. My owner is making lots of money with all the guests and I had to give up my room to a tabby cat and her kittens. I had to leave the stable and sleep next to a brown horse who neighed a lot.

Then, a man and his pregnant wife turned up looking dreary and exhausted. I felt bad for them. When my owner rejected them, I led them to the warm stable where the woman bent down to pet me. Her husband suggested that they could sleep on the hay and he placed his head-covering on top of it. It was not long after that a baby boy was born and I crept forward to see him. His mother said, ''We shall call him Jesus as the angel said.''

An hour later, I heard footsteps outside as three sheperds approached the stable. They said that they had seen a group of angels in the sky declaring that a savior was born in a stable in Bethlehem. The men had left their sheep behind and hurried to welcome the newly born baby. I stalked outside and looked at the night sky. There was a shining star in the shape of a cross floating above the stable.
