Four-Leaf Clover

Sora awoke with a jolt. He had dozed off again on the hammock in his backyard. He got off of it and looked around. Nobody was around on the beach today he guessed. He was about to go inside when something caught his eye.

A four-leaf clover.

Four-leaf clovers weren't something you see everyday. Especially on an island at that. It was swaying softly in the sea breeze. Sora bent down and picked it up, looking it over like he was making sure it was really a lucky clover.

"Huh," he grunted in satisfaction. "Lucky me."

Later that day Sora was walking down the street when something hit his foot, making a jingling sound. He looked down and saw a brown munny pouch. He picked it up and looked inside. There was over five thousand munny inside.

A smile crept onto his face instantly. He looked around to see if anyone was looking. Sora was never what you would call a thief and would never steal. But there was so much munny on his hands he gave into temptation and took it home with him.

"Lucky, lucky me!" he beamed.

Later that night, before Sora went to bed Kairi visited his house. She had lost her locket that her non-biological father, the mayor had given her. She said she searched the island for it but it was nowhere to be found. Riku was also helping her, searching elsewhere.

He agreed to help her and the search began. They looked in backyards, trashcans, under rocks, the beach, the Secret Place, everywhere they could think of; no prevail though.

"Oh, Sora. I don't think were going to ever find it," Kairi cried. "That locket is so special to me. My father gave it to me. And now it's gone!" She began to break out in tears.

"Don't cry Kairi," Sora said to her. "We'll find it you'll see." He flashed one of his big goofy smiles at her. Hopefully that would cheer her up.

"No we won't!" she continued to cry. "It's gone forever and it's all my fault!"

"Kairi…"

Just then something caught Sora's eye. In a patch of grass in the corner of his yard the sun was hitting something, making it shine. He walked towards it to get a better look at what it was and smile at what he saw. It was the locket!

"Kairi…" Sora called her name quietly. She turned around slowly and saw her diamond incrusted silver heart-shaped locket. Sora beamed at her reaction of his find. He dropped it into her cupped hands slowly, careful not to damage it in any way.

"Oh, thank you, Sora! Thank you!" Kairi thanked him happily jumping up and down on her heels. "What would I ever do without you?" She leaned towards his face and kissed his cheek. Jumped back quickly and said good-bye, since it was so dark outside now and her father was probably worried sick about her.

Soon after she had gone he was still standing there. His body was in shock. He had just been kissed by his crush. On lips would've been better but a kiss on the cheek wasn't something he would turn down though.

He dug into his pocket and pulled out the four-leaf clover he had found earlier. He smiled to himself. While heading in he said quietly to himself:

"Guess it really pays off to have one of these things around."
