Author Note: I was listening to 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved" by the Script (which is AWESOME. Go listen to it. Now.) And I got inspired. And so, out popped this one-shot. Enjoy!

Her date was going on and on about how he tried to make the Eiffel Tower with a deck of cards, not noticing the blonde's fingers flying expertly across her cell phone under the table.

'Help,' she wrote, without even glancing at the small screen. Lily nodded and smiled, pretending to listen. Her free hand fiddled with the spoon in her cup of cold coffee. She made a face at it, and pressed send with her other hand. She never did like coffee.

A few minutes later her phone rang. She pretended to read what was on the screen, then glanced at her date.

"Do you mind? This could be important," she said with a false apologetic tone. The man shook his head, and took the opportunity to greedily gobble his donut.

"Yola!" said Lily.

"So hot chocolate?" said a deep voice on the other side.

"Yes, who is this?"

"I'll assume that the date is that bad."

"Oh, yes of course." Her date was still feasting on his coffee and the small cakes.

"So shall we go with the 'my-dog-died' excuse?"

"Oh no!" gasped Lily, placing a hand on her mouth, sounding sincerely worried. The man across the table barely glanced at her. Lily scowled at him. The voice chuckled.

"You're a master conversationalist. So your professor wants to meet you urgently."

"No, no. I'll do it myself. Thank you."

"Whatever floats your boat. I'm running out of excuses Lily. That thank you better be code for ' I love you'." With that Lily flipped her phone cover on, ending the conversation. I can't believe I still have this slim flip phone after five years, she thought angrily. She stood up and cleared her throat.

"I'm sorry Adam, but I have to go. My laptop crashed, and I have to make sure I've still got all my files on backup. Thanks for the coffee. I had a great time. I'll see you later?" Adam looked at her and nodded his mouth full of food. He made no move to get up and escort her outside.

Lily quickly shuffled to the front of the café, and out the door, into the noisy, cold streets of New York. Pulling up her hood, She hailed a cab.

"Central Park, please."

After walking for a few minutes she saw him. He had his head in his hands, and a takeout cup next to him. She walked up to him and tapped him on his shoulder. Oliver looked up at her, his brown hair falling into his eyes.

"Another date gone bad. This is the second time this week Lily. I can't always be here to help you out. I have a life too y'know," he said in exasperation.

"I'm sorry Oliver. But I can't stand all those dates Miley sets me up with. She just doesn't believe that I'll find someone…Eventually." Lily sat down, and sipped her hot chocolate. Oliver stared at her, taking in her red face.

"Maybe the one you're looking for is right in front of you…" he said. Lily stared at him, cheeks going red.

"Oliver we've been through this before. It didn't work out. I am not going to do this again," she said not meeting his eyes. Oliver grabbed her face, making her look at him.

"Lily, we were younger back then. It was a misunderstanding. We can try again, right?" Lily refused to meet his eyes. "Right?"

"…" Blue eyes slowly met brown ones. Her red mouth slowly stretched into a smile.

"Fine… I guess we could try, again." Oliver's face brightened, and then kissed her, full on the mouth. A group of sixteen year olds stared at them, giggling and pointing. Oliver ignored them and slowly pulled his mouth away from Lily's.

"So… When are you moving in?"
