East Blue
Fruitbowl island
Luffy was lazily munching on an apple. It sure was lucky that he found this island covered in fruit trees. The supplies that he had brought with him when he set out for his journey had apparently been insufficient. As he thought these things he threw his apple core into the ever increasing pile to his side.
Standing up and stretching, Luffy decided that now his hunger was satisfied, the obvious next step was to explore this mystery island. Who knows. Maybe he will find his first crewmember here, or at least some sort of adventure.
Looking around he began to ponder which direction would be the most fun. This wasn't a huge island. It would probably take only half an hour to walk around the circumference. What interested Luffy the most was the multitude of trees on the centre of the island. There were all sorts of colourful fruits of every kind, some of which Luffy couldn't even name.
Deciding to head off, Luffy stretched his arm up to the top branches of one of the trees and flung himself up high above the island. He quickly scanned the area for anything that might be fun, but what caught his attention the most was actually a little ways off the island. It was a boat, about twice as large as Luffy's small row boat. There seemed to be some sort of blue and pink lump in the middle of it. Obviously, without thinking twice (barely even once) Luffy decided that he would investigate the new boat. After landing himself on the beach, he flung his arm backwards to prepare to grab his target.
On the boat
Alvida barely had the energy to cry. Not that she had much moisture to spare in her dehydrated state anyway. She had barely even left her home island alone to become a pirate when a sea king attacked her ship. She was able to right herself without capsizing and used her considerable strength to row away, but in the turmoil, many of her supplies had been knocked overboard. Now with no food, clean water, a map or a compass, she had been drifting aimlessly for days.
This was just her luck, she thought. Nobody cared about her back home. Anyone she tried making friends with either laughed at her due to her weight or was terrified of her due to her strength and temper. Usually both. So deciding that she would leave the island to find her own place in the world she set sail to become a pirate, and now she was going to die before she even really got started.
All she could hope for now was some sort of miracle. She wasn't even able to sit up and look for an island, let alone row to one. And just like that a hand gripped onto the side of her boat.
