He knew he could not trust him as far as he could throw him. He knew that yet he was here to negotiate with this man again. With a slam of the door he entered the room in front of him without bothering to knock. Pegasus was lounging behind his desk with a glass of wine in his hand. He didn't look surprised as Kaiba burst into the room.
"Ah Kaiba-boy, it is so good to see you. There is much we need to discuss," Pegasus said with a hint of a purr in his voice lounging behind a desk. Kaiba gave no response as he strode past the door; only a raised eyebrow gave any indication he heard what his business partner had said and it was only once his briefcase had hit the table he said anything.
"Let's make this quick. I am a busy man so this better be good."
Pegasus gave a smile as he walked over to the table.
"Oh Kaiba-boy, always so impatient and to the point. Why not enjoy this moment," he said looking down as he picked up some papers that had been resting on the table. There was pause as he caught Kaiba's eye and added in a sultry voice; "I know I am."
Kaiba rolled his eyes.
"Let's keep the pleasantries to a minimum and make this short and sweet. Why am I here?" Kaiba asked as he glanced at the papers in Pegasus' hand.
"Like I said, I have an offer for you. And I can make it," he paused, "worth your while."
Kaiba's eyebrow rose once again and he fought the urge to walk out the door and out of this ridiculous meeting as hard as he could. Pegasus always played this way, wither just for him or in all of his meeting Kaiba neither knew nor cared; all he knew was that it irritated him.
And he also knew that if he wanted to make this quick he would have to attempt to play along.
"I'm sure you can. Now, for the proposal?" he asked in a flat neutral tone which was the best he could do.
Pegasus smirked as he took a sip of his wine. He knew Kaiba trusted him about as far as he could throw him, but he was a good business partner and very fun to play with.
