Funeral

The first one he didn't liked, after all.

The day was beautiful. It was spring, and flowers appeared at all the places you can figure out. But someone died. Yeah, because there was a funeral right in front of him. People couldn't see him - a young man sitting in a tombstone, starring at them. But he was were. Watching the ritual of burying someone. He always liked funerals - of course, he was the god of the funerals - but this one was really special. He thought he would like it. Gods, he was so wrong.

First, there was the brother. Trying to hide the tears, he spoke some words about the dead. Then, there was one friend. She cried when started talking about the woman who died, and someone appeared to confort her. Finally, the daughter of the dead woman came to say something. She was hoping her mom would be happy with her dad. So, they lowered the coffin to its place.

Staring at all of that, Anubis couldn't feel nothing. It wasn't like he felt bad for the funeral. But he still didn't felt happy. And it was wrong. He might be happy. Nothing was going to change, anyway. Life and afterlife were really similar.

The people started to leave. Just one of them was still there: the daughter. She looked at her moms' tomb and just stayed there, staring at it. Anubis looked at her. She had big blue eyes with a pale skin and long black hair. To sum up, she was beautiful... beautiful as her mother.

"I agree. She's wonderful."

He didn't needed to turn around to know who it was.

"She looks like you."

The ghost sat next to him.

"She looks like you, too, if you hasn't noticed yet." she replied, smiling. "I'm proud of her."

Anubis just sat there, without saying a come back. After a few minutes, the girl went away with a smile across her face. She wasn't afraid of dead. Or even sad about her mom's dead. That girl was strong - just the way he wanted her to be.

"So I am." Anubis finally said, and the two went back to Duat.
