Blame

Dixie slammed through the double doors in a hurry.
"Alright everyone this is Hannah Mills hit by a bus on Penny Street. Her skull is slightly crushed with possible internal bleeding and a few broken ribs, possibly 4. She's had five morphine and her dad will be here shortly, he followed in his car,"

"Thanks Dix. Right, hello Hannah my names Dr Nicholls, could you squeeze my hand if you can hear me," Dr Nicholls wheeled the patient into Resus whilst holding her hand.

Hannah gave her a slight squeeze.

"Right, Dylan. I think we need another senior nurse on standby. Could someone please give Zoe a call?" Sam called across the ED.

"Zoe's in cubicles," Dylan replied, without turning his head.

"Well get her here, this is more important!" Exclaimed Sam, fuming at his ignorance.

Minutes passed and there was still no sign of Zoe.

"Lloyd, could you call the red phone, ask for any nurse on call," Sam was in a tough situation. Being the Christmas holidays, the ED was busy. No other nurse was around for assistance and her patient was slowly deteriorating.

Sam got to work as best as she could with no assistance.

"Where's my daughter, please anyone?"

Panicking, a middle-aged man staggered to the reception.

"Hi sir, how can I help you," Lloyd asked, focused on the man's cut face and black eye.

"It's my daughter. She was brought here," the man's eyes wouldn't focus.

"Ok sir, I think we need to give you a check-up first, those cuts are pretty deep," Lloyd was generally concerned.

"I don't care, get me to my baby!" The man was agitated, up in Lloyds face, intimidating.

"Err excuse me, abuse isn't tolerated to any member of staff," Big mac barged in.

"It's alright Mac, I've got this" Lloyd was checking his computer, "What's your daughter's name?"

"It's Hannah, Hannah Mills," The man, named Daniel was agitated, looking around the ward.

"If you'd just give me a second, I'll look to see who's treating her," Lloyd generally couldn't see any Hannah Mills on the register, but Daniel was having none of this.

"Get, G...Get me to…" The man collapsed in a heap on the floor, hitting the recently cleaned tiles like a ton of bricks.
