The world that could be

It was getting late. He could not sleep. Tomorrow was the day that he had defeated Voldemort. He was sitting alone downstairs. Staring to a point right in front of him but not seeing anything. Suddenly the big family clock makes a sound. Awareness returned right away. He looked at the clock to see if his family was in any kind of trouble. After a second he let out a sigh of relief. It seemed that his wife once again had wakened without him sleeping next to her and went out of bed to find him. The clock told him that she was walking inside the Potter mansion and that she no longer was sleeping. Another look at the clock told him that his children where still save and sound in Hogwarts.

Always around this time of year he could not sleep, he had to many nightmares and memories of people that died. Off course he was not the only one, many people had lost there friends and people they loved in the war. The point is that he was the only one that seems to have nightmares at night. He could not help it; it seemed that everything that happened in the past hid him harder than other people.

"Harry?" A voice thick with sleep said. His wife had found him.

"yes." Ginny looked concerned to her husband.

"You should sleep; you can't go on like this." She walked closer to the sofa where Harry was sitting.

"I know but I can't stop remembering." He said softly. Once again starring to something without seeing anything, once again lost in thought.

Harry snaps abruptly out of it as Ginny sits down next to him and put her head on his shoulder. He sighs and put his arms around her.

"Sorry." She looks up to him and says.

"You really should find some peace Harry, you can't go on this way, it will destroy you."

"What can I do? I hoped that it would get easier each passing year but it seems that it only gets worse." There was a silence for a few seconds.

"You know we go to Hogwarts tomorrow right?" How could he forget? Every year on this day since he defeated Voldemort there was a big feast at the castle. Everyone who had fought in the war was invited. Some people from the government were also expected. Off course the children in school had a free day and were also there.

"Yes. Why are you asking me this?" He looks down to his wife, she was wearing the pajamas he had bought for her birthday.

"I think you should take your invisibility cloak with you."

"What! Why?" He had to admit; each year he wished he had taken his cloak with him, to escape all the people that wanted to talk to him. Especially the government members.

But he could not really do that, could he?

"You should visit Albus grave."

"It has been a while yes, but why now?"

"Maybe you can find some peace there, nobody will see you and leave you alone." Again silence. He did not think he could find peace there, he had tried in the past but it did not work. Nevertheless if he could make Ginny a little bit happier if he goes there then he will do that.

"Thanks Gin. I think I will do just that."

Finally he escaped, so many people wanted to talk to him about nonsense that he thought he would go mad.

He was nearing the white grave of his former mentor. He sits down next to it. Sigh 'Albus, I miss you, I miss everyone. I wish that everyone could be alive and having a party here.' Harry closes his eyes. A white flash and he is gone.
