"Sandra we're going to be late for work!" Gerry said finding her sat at the kitchen table with her laptop.
"Go in without me, I have some stuff to sort out first."
"Fine but don't be too long or you may have to play nursery maid instead of police officer."
"I'll be in by half 9." She knew she shouldn't be doing this but when an email had come through the week before out of the blue she knew it was an opportunity she couldn't miss. She was quite surprised none of the boys had commented on her exceptional mood or how she was bouncing off the wall excited.
She'd joined the 'a-ha' mailing list when she was in her early twenties and went to as many concerts and TV appearances as possible but emails slowly became less regular and eventually stopped, that was until now. They were doing a final UK tour and today at 9am tickets went on sale, realistically she could have bought them from the office but depending on whether or not she got them her mood could be excessive excitement or the disappointed tears of a fangirl.
She had the ticket website open her laptop, phone and ipad in case anything went wrong as she watched the clock, feeling her heart flutter more with each passing second.
9 o'clock had finally come round and she know had to hurry but she was struggling with whether or not to take Gerry and then when she'd decided that yes she should it came to the issue of meet and greet. When she was younger she'd fancied these guys like hell and had been convinced that one day she'd marry one of them. but now she was the wrong side of 50, was it right to be turned to a teenage fangirl by people who were now older men?
Tickets bought without meet and greet she was now finding her last question to herself irrelevant as she fought the urge to scream and cry of excitement and go into the attic and dig out all of her old merch. For now though she had to pull herself together enough to go and do some proper police work.
