It was night time; the clouds are covering the bright moon. In the midst of the forest, Inuyasha was sleeping together with his friends, Sango, Miroku and Shippo. Kagome was nowhere to be found. Kagome heard noises coming from the bushes near them. She followed it and found Kouga. When Kouga saw Kagome, he suddenly grabbed and embraced her. Inuyasha's small dog ears moved; he heard voices not very far away. He followed where the voices are coming from and then, he saw Kagome was in Kouga's arms. Darn that wolf! Inuyasha thought.
Kagome pushed Kouga away and asked, "What are you doing here?"
"Ha! Isn't that obvious? I came for you, Kagome." Kouga said, placing his hands on Kagome's shoulders.
"Oh, I'm fine, thank you for your help the other day… you can leave now if you don't want any trouble." Kagome warned.
"Feh! I'll show you trouble!" Inuyasha said, coming out behind the tree. Koga was laughing when he saw him and Kagome looked astonished. "What happened?" Inuyasha asked as he looked at his hands, there were no claws. His hair turned black and his dog ears are gone; he has turned back to a human.
"Ahahah! Look, Kagome! A human looking for trouble…" Kouga said, holding his mouth, to keep himself from laughing.
"Shut up, Koga…" Inuyasha said, trembling with anger. Suddenly, Inuyasha came running towards him and clouted at Kouga's direction. However, he was able to avoid it with his speed.
"Can't catch me now, Inuyasha. Now that you're a human, you can't be as fast as you were before." Kouga teased.
"Stop it, both of you!" Kagome shouted.
Kagome's voice reached the other three who were in deep sleep. Miroku sat down and sighed, "Not again… when will those three ever learn?"
"Just get back to sleep. I'm sure that'll be over after a few minutes." Sango said, curling up next to Kirara. Miroku stood up and lay down beside Sango and then, he was about to embrace her when Sango felt what he was going to do. A big slap came towards Miroku's left cheek.
"Ouch! Why did you do that for?!" Miroku asked, holding his left cheek.
"Stop making excuses, Miroku. I know what you are about to do." Sango said, glaring at Miroku. He sighed and slept on the other side, murmuring, "Maybe some other time…"
"What did you say?!"
"Oh! Uh – I said, goodnight, Sango…"
Shippo was half-awake due to Miroku and Sango's noise, but after awhile he felt sleepy again. Meanwhile, Kagome seems to be the referee of the wolf and a dog's – or rather a human's fight. Inuyasha felt he is being underestimated since he transformed to a human.
"Kouga, you should leave. I don't think tonight is the right time for you to fight… just go…" Kagome said gently. Kouga held Kagome's hands in front of Inuyasha and said, "Don't worry, I'll come back for you." Kouga vanished quickly and Inuyasha went back to the spot where they were sleeping. Before he could even get there, Kagome held his hands and stopped him from doing so.
"I hate it when I turn like this!" Inuyasha complained, "I feel weak and helpless. I could not even protect you, when I turn like this…" Kagome touched Inuyasha's lonely face and said, "Whatever happens, you are still INUYASHA for me…"
Inuyasha held Kagome's hands tightly and then, he looked at Kagome's large brown eyes. Kagome looked back. "Thank you… Kagome… it really means… a lot…" Inuyasha whispered as he slowly embraced her in his arms.
