Hi guys! This is a rewrite of my previous shadamy fic called Breaking a heartbreaker. I have attempted to write it out better than before, I'm not entirely sure if I have or not but you know, it's worth a shot.

The characters are around 20 odd? This all takes place in university and will feature all sorts of characters from the different universes (such as Sonia and Manic from Sonic Underground)

Hope you enjoy!

Amy ran her hands down the side of her dress, smoothing out the material. A sigh escaped her lips. She still wasn't sure why Rouge wanted to drag her out like this, it seemed pointless and stupid to her but Rouge got what Rouge wanted and now she was stuck in her room, putting on makeup and making an effort when all she wanted to do was watch Netflix and work on her damn project.

She pulled her hair into a high and a rather neat ponytail, something she didn't do often. She did like it, it did really pull together the whole outfit. She glanced at the clock, Rogue was meant to be here in five minutes. Amy slipped on a small green rock bracelet to complete the outfit, there, she was ready. She looked at herself in the mirror, doing a final twirl in the mirror.

''Are you ready yet bitch?'' Amy looked up as she heard a loud voice echo through her apartment, Amy couldn't help but smile. Rouge was here and had clearly just let herself in.

''In here Rouge,'' Amy called out.

''I'm coming!'' Rouge called back, walking into Amy's bedroom. ''Took you long enough, I told you to be ready by nine and now it's ten.''

''That's not my fault, is it? You told me ten!'' Amy chuckled, reaching for her clutch bag. ''Let's go.''

''Hold on.'' Rouge looked Amy up and down, taking in the whole outfit. After a few seconds of judging, Rouge nodded in agreement. ''I'm so glad I said no to that other dress at the store.'' Amy looked back at her best friend, ignoring the bat as she spoke. She looked at her outfit, Rouge wore a similar dress to her but it was in her signature deep purple colour, her short hair was styled into an effortless chic bob and her makeup was dark and sultry, the whole look was perfect really, very Rouge. Amy wouldn't be surprised if Rouge was able to pull a man tonight.

''Ames, let's go. The night isn't getting any younger!'' Rouge grinned, pulling Amy out of her little trance.

''Alright, let's go.'' Amy sighed, watching Rouge take off ahead of her, she followed. Locking the door behind her.

''I still don't see why we have to come out to the club Rouge.'' Amy rolled her eyes, leaning back in her seat.

''Three reasons, first reason. I wanted to drink.'' Rouge turned to face Amy, a smile across her lips.

''You could drink at mine, I had a bottle of wine chilling for you.'' Amy countered, hoping the appeal of sitting at home with wine, would change Rouge's mind.

''But I can't find a man sitting at yours,'' Rouge smirked. ''Which leads me to the second reason, I want a man.'' Amy couldn't help but sigh.

''And the final reason?''

''To find you a man.''

''I don't want a man, Rouge.'' Amy thinned her lips, looking away from Rouges glare. ''I only just-''

''Just got dumped by Sonic, I know but girl, you need the night out.'' Rouge sighed. She knew Amy didn't want to be here but she'll be damned if she let her best friend mope around at home when she could be doing something. She reached her hand out, gently resting it on Amy's. ''An hour, that's all we'll be out for.''

Amy let out a loud sigh, she knew she couldn't say no. ''Alright, I'm in but only for an hour then we'll go back and drink that wine regardless.''

''Sounds like a plan girl,'' Rouge smirked.

Amy looked out the window, watching the city lights pass her by. Rouge wasn't wrong-it had been a little over a month since Sonic had dumped her for Sally and Amy had spent most of that time sitting around at home. Moping and drinking lots of wine.

Amy wasn't sure how she got through that month really, it was all a blur to her.

''Ames, let's go. We're here.'' Rouge said, loudly. Grabbing Amy's attention, Amy watched Rouge the cab driver and get out the car, she followed, getting out the car too. Amy looked at the club in front of her, club perfect dark, apparently it was the hottest spot in town right now, it was a big enough nightclub to fit a load of people in but it was pretty hard to get into, you either were stuck on the waitlist for months beforehand or you didn't get in at all. Luckily for Rouge, her uncle was the owner of the club and her other uncle was the bouncer which meant Rouge was able to bypass all that nonsense.

Amy looked out at the line, it seemed to never end. She could spot a few familiar faces buried deep in the line, random people she saw around at university, random people she met at the coffee shop, even a few friends from her course. She couldn't help but smile, she hoped some of her friends could get in, it'll be nice to see them all again, her smile instantly died however as she saw a familiar mess of blue, there at the front of the line, was her ex. Sonic Hedgehog with his arms wrapped around a smaller brown female, Sally Acorn, his new girlfriend. Sally was smirking at her, almost gloating that she was at the front of the line while Amy would have to go to the back.

''Ames, hello! Let's go. It's time to go in.'' Rouge grabbed Amy by the hand and walked with her to the bouncer, the large bat looked at the two girls with a smile.

''Rouge, sweetheart, it's good to see you.'' He said as he pulled his niece into a hug. ''And if it isn't little Amy Rose, it's good to see you as well sweetheart.'' He laughed, pulling Amy into the hug as well. Amy couldn't help but chuckle, hugging the older bat back.

''It's good to see you too, uncle Danny. Rouge doesn't want to bring me to see you anymore.''

''Clearly not.'' He laughed. ''I take it that you both want to go in?''

''Yes we do. I already spoke to uncle Johnny and he said he would put us on the list.'' Rouge smiled, flipping her hair back. ''Not that it matters, you'll let us in any way.''

''Of course, since when do I ever listen to Johnny?'' He smirked. ''Go on in girls, don't cause too much trouble.''

''Thanks uncle Danny.'' Rouge laughed, pulling Amy along as they went inside, ignoring Sally and Sonic, she hoped that they wouldn't be in any time soon.

''Wow, it's busy here tonight,'' Rouge commented as she glanced around, the club was almost filled to the brim with young adults, chatting and drinking. The music was loud, too loud for Amy's liking, something she wasn't used to anymore. ''Ames, I'll go get the first round of drinks, do you wanna find us a table?'' Amy looked up as Rouge spoke, barely able to make out the words. She nodded, having a general idea of what Rouge was saying. Rouge disappeared into the crowd.

It didn't take long for Amy to find a table, luckily for them, most of the residents were busy by the bar or chatting on the dancefloor which left the table areas pretty empty, she let out a sigh as she sat down. She hadn't even been here more than five minutes and she was already tired of the evening. Rogue returned a few minutes later, carrying two large pitchers of two different cocktails.

''I got two, I didn't know which one you want.'' Rouge grinned, placing the pitchers on the table. Amy only nodded, reaching for one of the pitchers and pouring herself a drink, not actually caring enough to choose the one she liked more. ''Oh come on Ames, cheer up a little.'' Rouge sighed, taking in her best friends sullen appearance. ''A couple of drinks then you'll be smiling again.''

''I guess so...just wasn't expecting to see them here.'' Amy let out a sigh, bringing the glass to her lips and taking a long sip. ''Hopefully, they'll stay far away from us as possible, I don't want to deal with them.''

''Once you're drunk enough, it won't matter.'' Rouge laughed, grabbing her own glass. ''To us, may Sonic and Sally rot forever while we party hard and get laid.'' Amy couldn't help but smirk, Rouge's speeches always amused her.

''You know what, you're right. May they rot forever while we get drunk.''

''That's my girl!'' Rouge cheered, downing her drink. Amy followed suit, downing the rest of her drink fast.

''I still only want to stay here an hour though.''

Rouge groaned, deciding to ignore her best friend in favor of another drink. ''Whatever you say Ames...whatever you say.''

It was going to be a long night.

Thoughts? Love to hear them! I've actually been trying to rewrite this since like 2013 when I first published this, I hope my writing has improved in that time. I mean it's 2018 now, you would think I've improved even a slight bit.

If this gets a couple of reviews then I'll do the next chapter which will introduce our resident emo hedgehog and have a few more moments of Sonic and what he did to Amy~

Have a lovely evening, afternoon or morning~
