Prompt #113 (Item) Picture Frame

"What is this!" Alice demanded turning around to face her youngest.

"It's a picture in a picture frame mother." Betty sighed annoyed that her mother was in her bedroom uninvited yet again. She folded her arms across her chest.

"Why do you have a picture of that vile Veronica Lodge in a frame near your bed." Alice stormed as she threw the frame against the wall and was happy when she heard the glass break. She hoped a shrade of glass was between the brunnettes' eyes.

"Did you really have to do that mother?" Betty glared into her heated mother's blue eyes. "Whom is the adult here after all?" She demanded. "Amazing that the answer should be you …. seeing how it was you whom have carried me inside you; you whom have given birth to me; you whom are over thirty years older than I am." She sighed as her left hand rose so she could bridge her nose in between her fingers. "But it sure doesn't feel that way right now." Or whenever we are in these screaming matches.

"Don't you dare that tone with me Elizabeth." Alice growled her hands coming up to fold across her chest. "Look at me as I'm speaking to you."

Betty's eyes opened and anger coated over her sea of blue green eyes.

"I will not have a picture of that vile Veronica Lodge underneath my roof." Alice's head lifted.

"Veroncia is my friend. She's my best friend. I'll have her picture(s) in my bedroom; mother. You don't get to tell me what I can have or not have in my room. At least nothing as innoncent as a mere picture." Betty fought back.

"What is the meanng of all this noise." Hal's annoyed voice spoke from the open door. He shook his head at the sight of his wife and his youngest daughter yet again in a screaming match.

"You are grounded." Alice harshly spoke.

Betty's eyes opened wide. "For what? For having a picture of one of my best friends in my bedroom!" She barked in laughter; "This is the lamest reason for you grounding me as yet mom."

Hal sighed. "You aren't grounded Betty."

"Yes she is." Alice snared shooting a heated look at her husband.

"She hasn't done anything wrong." Hal rolled his eyes. "Leave it alone Alice." He warned his wife.

"Please leave so I can clean the glass up." Betty spoke in a forced calm voice.

"I'll replace the frame Betty." Hal nodded to his daughter. "Alice …." He spoke in a tight voice.

Alice turned her eyes back on her daughter. "I don't want Veronica Lodge's picture in this house." She turned and stormed from the bedroom.

Hal looked into his hurt daughter's eyes. "Don't worry Betty; I'll keep your mother from destroyng all of Veronica's pictures." He shook his head. "I'm sorry that she's using her hatred towards Hermione against Veronica." He walked down the hallway towards the stair case.

Betty sighed as she moved to shut her bedroom door. Her open palm resting against the wood as she looked where the broken frame with Veronica's pitcure laid on the floor next to her dresser.
