A/N: Takes place roughly ten years after Goliath.

I do not own Leviathan, Behemoth, or Goliath.

It was a beautiful day in London. The sun was high, there was a slight breeze, and all was right in the world.

Unless you asked a certain perspicacious loris. Nothing had bee right since that thing showed up. That thing had been taking all of the attention for itself. It spends all of its time either crying or sleeping. It couldn't speak a single cohesive word and yet it got their undivided attention.

It was quite frustrating for the loris. Any attempts to get their attention were met with "I'm too tired right now beastie," or "Deryn, the baby is crying again!"

The merciful thing to do would be to put the creature out of its misery. It spends all of its time crying, it surely must be in constant pain. But any time Bovril got close to it the loris would be met with deep, blue eyes that mirrored Mr. Sharp's. It was simply too innocent to kill. It's hair was dark like Alek's. It was almost as if they were fused together in the form of an infant. This thing came from no egg though.

No matter how long Bovril stared at it, it couldn't see why such a creature existed. Suddenly it reached out for the loris. The creature narrowly escaped and hid on the other end of the cage.

"Barking spiders!" yelled Bovril. It missed the other loris, the two of them learned from each other. They furthered each other's goals. The boffin might not have been too nice but she was better than this thing.

"Bovril," said Deryn as she walked in to check on the baby. "what are you doing in there? Careful, you don't want to scare Sophie. She seems rather calm though." After a moment Deryn reached into the cage, or crib as it's called when it holds babies, and picked up Bovril.

"I know the last couple of months have been hard on you beastie." she said, as she scratched the loris' head. "I know we haven't been able to give you as much attention as you want, but that doesn't mean we don't still love you."

The creature turned its head. "Fat dummköpft."

"Don't insult me, I'm trying to be nice." she said in annoyance. "And I'm losing the baby weight. The things you pick up..."

"Sophie... Sharp." the creature said.

"Yes Sophie Sharp. You should get to know her, she's not going anywhere." she said as she put Bovril on her shoulder and picked up the baby. "Say hello Bovril."

"Baby Sharp." it turned back to Deryn. "Mama Sharp."

"Yes, I guess that's what I am now. To be honest I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a mother, but now I think it's pretty nice."

At that moment, the baby reached up for Bovril.

"Look, she likes you. And soon you'll like her too."
