Tortured
When he saw Regina lying on the gurney, rage built up inside him. He shot at her assailant and he went to run after him.
"David," he heard Snow yell. He turned around to see Snow pulling off the wires. He put his gun back in his holster. He walked over to her and quickly ran his eyes over her body. She was weak and unconscious.
He carried her out the warehouse trying not to cause her more pain. During the drive, he held her all the way to the apartment. He and Snow quickly went into the apartment and laid her on the bed.
He could hear Snow shuffling in the background. The sound was quickly fading as he continued to stare at the woman before him. This woman who made it her life mission to destroy his family seemed so different. She seemed weak and small. Two things he knew Regina hated to be.
He knew that Regina was in pain because of what Snow felt but the images in his mind were getting worse. His anger was bubbling again. He took her hand in his. "I'm sorry they did this to you. They are going to pay."
Snow's voice brought him out of his thoughts and he dropped her hand. She took over his spot and ran the warm washcloth over her forehead. He stood and continued to look at the two of them. He hoped she would wake up soon.
"Why would someone do this to her?" Snow asked.
"I don't know Snow," he replied. "Hey, she's going to pull through."
"David, you didn't feel it. She-
"Was brutally tortured," he finished.
"They strapped her down like an animal. She hates feeling trapped," Snow stated.
"She's going to be fine," he encouraged again. "She has to be," he thought to himself.
