"The Plateau" was so amazingly awesome that it inspired me to write my first piece of actual Fringe fanfiction. This idea wouldn't leave my head so I figured I might as well write it down.
Don't own Fringe.
"You okay, Liv?"
"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine." Olivia shook herself out of her thoughts and turned her attention to Charlie who was still looking at her with a little bit of concern.
"You sure? You look kind of out of it. If you want to take a break that's fine, I can take care of this."
She shook her head and gave him a big smile. "No really, I'm fine. Just trying to figure out this case."
He still didn't look very convinced, but he let it go and they continued to canvass their latest Fringe scene.
They spent what was left of the day looking over the scene of the incident and following leads, but all too soon, they were being sent home.
Olivia opened the door to her apartment that she shared with Frank and walked in quickly, shutting the door and locking it behind her.
She only got a little ways into the apartment before she couldn't keep quiet anymore and whipped around to face the man behind her.
"Do you ever shut up? Or better yet, just stop following me!"
"You know I can't do that, sweetheart."
Sighing in frustration, she turned her back to the man and walked into the kitchen to fix herself something to eat.
It had been three days since Frank had left, three days since she had started seeing this man, whose name she didn't know.
And no matter what she did, he followed her everywhere, often speaking to her in public and distracting her, like earlier today while she was working that case. After the first day, she realized that no one else could see him and learned that unless she wanted to seem like she'd gone off the deep end, again, she couldn't speak to him in public. That didn't stop him from commenting about every little thing though.
What was he? She didn't know. Every time she asked, he would say the same thing. That "he was a part of her, a part that she had to hold on to." And every time she asked him to at least tell her his name, he would just smile and say that she already knew it.
"Liv, your food is burning." She could feel his warm breath on her ear as he spoke, causing her to jump from his closeness.
"Will you stop doing that?"
"Doing what?"
"Being so, so close all the time! It's unnerving." He gave her an odd look before replying. "You are the one that is keeping me close, I am a part of you, remember? You control me."
"Then go away."
"No can do, sweetheart. There is another part of you that is locked away that wants me to stay, so I'm staying."
With a sigh, Olivia gave up on talking to the man and set about finishing her dinner.
This man, figment of her imagination or whatever you want to call him, was going to drive her insane.
That is, if him being there didn't prove that she was insane already.
Will there be more? Probably not. Unless, of course, I randomly come up with more ideas but as my attention is usually focused on Castle fanfics, that probably won't happen.
