Getting over the boy
"There, there Parvarti, dont cry," Padma said affectionately to her twin and placing a comforting arm around her shoulder. "That idiot isn't worth your tears."
"How can I not cry Padma. He treat me like a Queen, instead of the gaudy, plain girl I so clearly am," she sobbed back, shrugging off her sister's touch and jumping up from her bed. "Every date, every kiss and every touch was like a dream; I should have known it would never last!"
Padma had been doing all she could over the summer to help her sister get over her breakup with Seamus Finnigan, and she did so to very little avail. No matter what she said or what she did, Parvarti could not seem to get over the boy who had put a spell on her, in fact if Padma was a believer in all that muggle nonsense she would say he had gone as far as to hypnotise her sweet, loveable sister. As far as Padma was concerned Seamus Finnigan was a ratbag and a scoundrel for breaking her sister's heart in such a callous manner and he could rot in hell.
All the usual means that they used to get over breakups had long since been exhausted and Padma knew that she had to pull out the big guns so to speak.
"Parvati Patil I have had enough of your moping," Padma cried at her sister as the most wonderful idea to help her sister entered her mind. "Pick out your best dress and get changed. You and I are going out this afternoon, and we shall not be returning until that hotheaded prat is out of your mind once and for all."
Parvati wiped her eyes on the sleeve of her jumper and looked up at her sister in shock. Not once in their sixteen years had she raised her voice to her in such a fashion. "I don't suppose you're going to give me much of a choice in the matter, are you?" she laughed
Padma shook her head and then departed from her sister's room to get changed herself. If she was going to do this, she was going to do it right for her sister's sake.
"Oh Padma, how did you know?" Parvati exclaimed as they entered the shopping centre together.
It astounded Parvati that her twin, who was notebale for despising the word shopping and everything associated with it, would be kindhearted enough to bring her here for some retail therapy. It would be something that her best friend Lavender would have instantly suggested.
Padma smiled at her sister and then replied, "I may have talked to Lavender last night. Now let's shop sis."
She looped her arm with her sister's and together the pair went around every shop possible, tried on numerous clothes that were far too expensive for then to purchase without raising eyebrows from their parents, and flirted outrageously with the numerous cute boys they encountered.
By the end of their afternoon shopping the name Seamus Finnigan was far from Parvati's mind and heart, and Padma was happy to see that her sister was happy once again.
