Adrien dug about an old chest lying in the middle of the attic. Dragging a semi-crumpled cardstock heart from the depths of the cluttered container, Plagg cried out in defeat. "All I've found is this dusty old letter." He flung the heart at Adrien, the paper fluttering to the ground before it reached him. "You promised me cheese."
Adrien sighed, gesturing to the floor and the kitchen below. "There's some on the counter."
No longer pestered by the presence of a hungry kwami, the blonde had returned to his work in the attic. He slid the chest away and pulled another dusty box towards him. The paper heart fluttered in the drift of the box, drawing Adrien's attention back to the pink spot. Opening the card, a loud laugh burst forth from his lips.
As he clung tightly to the card, he stumbled down from the attic. "Marinette!" he called, frantically waving the paper and rushing down the hall to the bedroom. His body shook with laughter as he leaned in the doorway. "You'll never guess what I just found," he huffed.
Marinette looked up from her sketchbook, slightly amused by her kitty's loss of breath. Her eyes caught sight of the flapping pink card. Years of pinning over her massive crush, and poor skill in the department of poetry, came flooding back to her. "No, no, no, no, no." Marinette sat up on the bed, covering her face in embarrassment.
"Your hair shines like the sun," he began. The model moved his arms with the poor flow of the words, every word dripping with excess drama. "Your eyes are gorgeous green. Why thank you, m'lady."
"Adrien, give that to me," Marinette pouted.
"I look at you and wonder your-"
"Like yours was so much better." She moved to her bedside table, pulling a crumpled paper from the confines of the drawer.
"You kept that!"
"Blackmail, kitty." Marinette sat herself back on the bed. The corner of her lip curled into a smirk, a look Adrien rarely saw when she wasn't Ladybug. "My writing's better than yours." She cleared her throat to begin her monologue. "Your hair is jet black, your eyes as- WAAAH"
Marinette shrieked as Adrien flung himself towards her, his shoulder pinning her to the bed. "I'll give you letter. Yours for mine. Fair trade."
"You think I'll give up that easily? I have the upper hand."
"But I have you pinned."
Marinette pushed herself onto her elbows and drew her face closer to his. Their lips collided, Adrien sinking deeper into the kiss. In the moment, Adrien forgot about their feud. He felt his lady smile against his lips, their hands intertwining.
Marinette pulled back, her face returning to the sly grin she held early. "Oops," she laughed. She pulled back her hand, shifting he weight to one side. Her knee connected with his waist, and her shoulder with his chest. Watching Adrien fly across the room, she sat back up. "Oh Kitty, you're too easy."
Adrien gawked as his lady waved both sappy displays of affection, strolling to the doorway. She paused to glance back at the flustered boy. Winking, she left the room.
