Lulu has been many things to many people in her short life thus far. She's been a friend, a companion, a lover. She's been a tutor, a protector, and a confidante. She has loved and lost, regretted and despised. She's been and felt so many things in her twenty five years of life and is still constantly amazed by how much can still surprise her.

Vidina is walking everywhere now, unsteady but sure little baby steps all over Besaid, getting into everything. He's an explorer at heart, no doubt a trait inherited from both of his parents. Most of the time she sends Wakka after him with a flourish of her hand, but this time her husband is nowhere to be found, so it is up to her to track down her son.

With a sigh, she lifts up her heavy skirts and walks out of their hut to track him down. It's not the first time that she seriously entertains the idea of switching to an outfit that would be more suitable for island life. Or perhaps leaving island life altogether. She dismisses the thought immediately. For all it's impracticality, Besaid is her home, their home. She'd never leave it.

The wind is light and breezy, but the tide is still high, Lulu notes dispassionately as she follows the little footprints in the sand heading towards the beach. The steps are small and staggered. Every few feet there is an dip in the sand where Vidina has stumbled and fallen over. Lulu hides a smile behind her hand and continues onwards.

The sight waiting for her at the beach is heart warming. Little Vidina on his unsteady legs, sitting in the shallows of the water with a blitzball wrapped up in his pudgy little arms. His father has waded out into the ocean, and is holding out his arms encouragingly, words of support flowing through the sea air.

Yes, Lulu has been many things in a very short time. She has been shocked to the core, and humbled beyond words. Her travels have taken her to many wonderful, awe-inspiring places. But nothing surprises her more than how fast the sight of her own family can take her breath away. Lulu smiles softly, openly, and goes to join her little family on the beach of Besaid, and cannot even put into words how happy she is in that one, calm moment.
