Spell It Out.

Pairing: Oliver/Ashley

Rating: K+

A/N: Well, this little plot bunny came as the result of me listening to "More Than Words (AEIOU)" by the new Menudo. I thought about making this a Loliver, but that seemed a little too typical, y'know?

Disclaimer: I own absolutely everything...psych!

Oliver Oken looked up from his American History homework to steal a glance at Ashley Dewitt. She seemed like some sort of foreign beauty, some untouchable goddess with her exotic features and "Adore me" aura.

You look away every time we lock eyes.

She looked up, and he could have sworn he saw her blush before giving him that look. That look that made him remember his position on the social ladder. He was at the very bottom. Glamor and beauty had never been really important to him.

But he knew that they were Ashley's everything.

Oliver averted his gaze from Ashley to his best friends, Miley and Lilly. They would never forgive him if they found out he liked Ashley. They might disown him.

Actually, they'd probably bop him over the head with a baseball bat until he forgot he'd ever had a crush on Ashley.

They really didn't have to know though, right?

And you can come and be with me.

Why? 'Cause I want you more than words.

American History seemed to go by too quickly. Maybe because Oliver had spent the entire time gazing at Ashley longingly, watching her strawberry lip-glossed mouth chew on the pink mechanical pencils sitting in between her perfectly manicured fingers.

He watched her pass a note to Amber, and silently giggle over it.

Her long, black hair got in her luminous brown eyes several times. She would casually brush it away before returning to her note-taking.

Oliver knew she wasn't as dumb as she pretended to be. It was all an act to keep her position as co-queen of Seaview High School, along with Amber.

However, Queen Ashley would need a knight in shining armor to save her from all of the pretending she did.

Oliver planned on being that knight.

When the final bell ring, he checked his hair quickly and hurried up to Ashley's locker.

"Um, Ashley?"

"Is there any specific reason you're talking to me, Oken?" Ashley raised a perfectly tweezed eyebrow, looking at him with another one of those looks.

"I just...I was wondering...I thought maybe-"

"Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock." her voice sounded cold and emotionless.

"I was wondering if you would...give me a piece of gum." Oliver finished pathetically.

"Gum? Um, I have some Tic-Tacs." Ashley sounded slightly weirded out as she pulled a pack of pink Tic-Tacs from her purse.

"Th-thanks." he stuttered, taking the package.

"Whatever." came the reply.

He watched her walk away, feeling dejected and rejected.

That is, until she turned around and smiled at him quickly. If he had blinked, he might have missed it.

Oliver smiled slowly, popping a Tic-Tac in his mouth.

Maybe he wouldn't have to spell out his feelings for her.

Maybe she already knew.

Maybe, just maybe, she even felt the same.

I'm pretty sure nobody ships Oliver/Ashley, but hey, I tried something new. I'm calling this pairing...Oshley. Which sounds ridiculous.

Listen to that song. It. Is. Amazing.
