"Hey, no fair, Remus!" Sirius Potter had said to his triplet brother as the young boy flew past him before throwing the quaffle into the makeshift post in their backyard. The other triplet James had high fived him and laughed before noticing a small glisten in the trees that never been there before.
"Moony, Padfoot!" James said, looking at his brothers and gesturing them to the tree. They flew over to it and landed. James looked like his father, grandfather and great grand father before him, untidy black hair, short, knobby knees, the same green eyes as his grand mother. Sirius had long black hair, grey eyes, tall like their mother, and a childish personality. Remus, on the other hand, had brown hair, brown eyes and no one knew where THAT came from. Often their grandfather joked that they looked just like the Marauders, their great father and his friends. After hearing that, the boys started calling themselves the Marauders reincarnated and began using the same nicknames.
After James looked at the other two, he looked up. "So who's going to go get it?" He said, looking back at the two.
"We could get Regulus or Severus?" Sirius suggested, talking about their younger twin brothers who had taken to keeping to themselves with Severus's potion kit. James and Remus shook their heads. "Dad would kill us if they got hurt." Remus said as he started climbing the tree. He came back down a few seconds later with a tattered satchel over his shoulder. "It's full of books… about grandfather." He said, opening the satchel for them to look. "Harry Potter and the… There are seven of these!" Sirius said, looking at the other two. "We need to take them to Dad. So he can make sure they aren't full of dark magic." James said before noticing a piece of parchment. He pulled it out, looking at the handwriting and read it out loud to his brothers.
To the second group of Marauders,
May these books help you understand your family history and avoid making the same mistakes we did. We don't want what happened to us to happen to you five.
Sincerely,
Messers Padfoot Moony Prongs Severus and Regulus.
P.S. give your grandfather our love.- Moony, Prongs and Padfoot
The boys looked at each other and looked up. "How did the books get all the way from heaven to down here?" Remus asked, the three pairs of ten year old eyes looking bewildered and confused as they ran with the books and note in their hands to the house.
"Dad, Severus, Regulus, we need you…" Remus called out, looking around as the three came to the kitchen. James Sirius Potter was a single father, the boys' mother having died in childbirth from the twins. "What's going on, boys? What have you got there?" He asked, Remus adding him the satchel. The twins looked at them. "What was so important you had to interrupt our potion time?" Severus asked them, a scowl on his face as black eyes went into his blacker hair. Regulus seemed to be the only one who didn't look like his name sake. He had dark red hair and emerald green eyes. Their father looked at the note and the books, laughing a bit as he did a few simple spells to make sure it was from who they said they were from. After being sastified with the results, he handed the satchel back to the boys. "It was meant for all five of you… Would you boys like me to read them to you?" He said, all five of the boys interestedly nodding and heading into the library. James Senior followed them and sat in the comfty red chair in front of them, settling down with the first book.
"Alright. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone…. Chapter 1 The Boy who lived…"
