Kyoko yawned as she turned her body in the sheets that had been muddled with the previous night's activities. She pulled the sheets and comforter towards her face and covered her body in the new position, only leaving her head above the surface. She blew the hair that had fallen into her face during transition to the side and fixed her eyes on the other body that lay next to her, still asleep. Taking in every single feature she could, she sighed in happiness as she thought about the past week they had spent together.
The two had spent an amazing week in Paris. The city had been their get-away from everything: Japan, show-biz, their managers. They walked hand in hand and discovered closeness as the toured the city in the brisk month of October. Over coffee, they noted that it was a good feeling to be able to sit on the veranda of a café and not be noticed by a single person. Not a single person knew who they were, and no one cared. They rejoiced in the ability to not have to worry about going to dinner and have preparations made in the event that paparazzi were lurking in the shadows near-by.
The first two days they toured the city. The architecture towered over them as they self-guided their way to the city, trying to fit as much as they could in each day. They didn't have to worry about being professional in the pictures that were being taken of them because they weren't taken for some magazine or press release. They were taken with the camera an arm's length away from the face with goofy smiles and poses in each one of them. The third day they roamed the Champs Elysees, beginning at the Jardin de la Nouvelle France. The time line of the day didn't exist, allowing the Japanese stars to simply roam up and down the street and stop whenever and where ever they pleased. In the late afternoon they toured the museum that sits under the Arc de Triomphe and watched the sunset from atop of it. Dinner wasn't in a five star restaurant. Instead, the couple decided that they wound entertain a small side road shop and chose to eat at a picnic table in a green area across the way.
The two spent a lot of their free time sitting and talking to each other without the eavesdropping. Although they were speaking another language, they didn't have anyone around them who cared about their conversation. They dug deep into each other's fears and passions where they had only scraped the surface before. The ability to speak freely about themselves was an incredible freedom that neither had been able to truly feel in a long time.
Even though the last day had only just happened, It was sure to be one of those memories that makes one smile when they are in the darkest of places. They had saved the Eiffel Tower for the last night that they would be in the city. Kyoko and her lover walked through garden upon garden that day, taking in the nature and occasionally seeking shelter from the showers. Kyoko wore a simple, red and white striped shirt and jean capris and her partner wore a white v-neck with dark jeans. They travelled through the city on foot while taking in the last bits of wonder that the city had to offer. As the sun was beginning to set, the couple began to climb the steps, one by one, to the highest point that they could reach. As the clock struck 8 pm, the towers lights glimmered and the whole structure sparkled like the Fourth of July. As Kyoko was looking over Paris, her partner snaked his hands around her waist and leaned his head on her shoulder.
"I will always love you, you know that?"
Kyoko smiled, and reaching over under the covers she placed her hand on top of his. As his hazelnut eyes fluttered open, she leaned in and kissed him on the nose, whispering good morning very lightly.
With a smile, he replied, "Good morning, Mrs. Hizuri."
