A.N. One of my sadder (and favorite!) ones.

Disclaimer: Hemming and hawing...oh what? No, I don't own That 70's Show. That dress does make your back fat look big, though.

Anything

Thinking to much always gets you in trouble. Hyde didn't think at all and now he was in some deep shit. He knew Kelso wasn't over Jackie, but he figured she was over him! And seeing them together hurt him more than he thought it would. More than the pain of not having a dad as a kid. More than the pain of a terrible hang over. And Hyde didn't like it. So he went to get pay back, not thinking things through, at all, and now...well now he lost Jackie. His Jackie. So he went to get her back.

She was sitting on her cot reading a magazine.

"Hey," he said softly. When she looked up, he felt another stab, but didn't know why. He'd never felt it before. He took off his glasses, hoping that if she saw exactly how sorry he was, she'd forgive him.

"The thing is, I'm really sorry."

"Yeah, you said that already." Now he was getting aggravated. Talk to me, dammit!

"C'mon Jackie, I made a mistake, okay? It was a stupid one time thing." And it was. He'd never, ever do it again.

"You know what Steven? I've heard it all before, from you, from Michael. God, just do me a favor and leave me alone." Now Hyde was pissed. She's still hung up on Kelso's mistakes! But doesn't she realize how he did it different than him? He told her he cheated on her, instead of hiding it. He told her he was sorry. That he'd never do it again! There was a difference between him and Kelso, and she needed to figure it out soon, or else she was right. It'd never work.

"Whatever," he says, frustrated. He stands up and looks at the floor. God! Didn't she realize...realize...

"Jackie." Beat "I love you." She looked shocked at him for a moment, and he got some hope built up in him. But then it got shattered by that hard look she gave him right after.

"Yeah, well I don't love you." Hyde didn't think she could've stabbed him with a longer, sharper sword.

He sat back on the bed as she left.

Steven sat there thinking that he would do anything. Anything. An. Y. Thing. Anything. To make sure that it was never him that made her have that look on her face. Ever again.

Nope, he'd be the one to make it go away.
