With Them

"EDMUND," I heard Lucy yell out as soon as she saw me. My head whipped around to see her and Susan with tears running down their faces. Peter was standing behind them with a blank expression on his face. I always had had a feeling that sometimes Peter didn't quite like me the way that he liked our sisters. Lucy on the other hand loved having me around whether I was mean to her or not. I looked at Aslan to see if we were done with our talk, he nodded back and said to go speak with my family. I walked slowly down the hill; as if not to fall, when in fact, I was dreading what they would say to me. I knew that Lucy would go easy on me, for it was not in her nature to stay mad at anyone for very long. Susan may be a little harder to convince because of her logical side. Peter was the one that worried me, as we hadn't been on very good terms when I ran away. As I approached I felt two pairs of arms wrap around my waist and neck and I knew that it was Susan and Lucy. When they let go Peter stood there awkwardly and said, "You better get some sleep," I left disappointed, then I heard him say, "And Edmund," he continued when I turned back to him, "do try not to run off again," he finished smiling. I grinned back at him happy that he was not mad at me.
The day after that, the White Witch came and said that because I was a "traitor" she had the right to my blood and that I would have to be killed or Narnia would be overturned. I heard Peter defend me and I felt very safe. Aslan told her to join him in his tent to try and make a deal. As we sat down to wait I looked over at my siblings and at the tent, and I felt safer than ever . . . with them.
