"Boys. My office. Now." Professor McGonagall seethed, standing in the middle of the entrance hall in her tartan dressing gown, facing four all too familiar Gryffindor boys. She turned tail and started to walk back to her office "And make sure these beds are returned to their rightful places! I expect you in no more than ten minutes!" Minerva was no fool to the tricks of the four boys, and each of them joined her within the ten minutes she had allocated. "What were you boys thinking?! Breaking the rules, again?! Lupin, you're a prefect! I would expect better from you! Potter and Black, well I'm not surprised at you two, but I would hope you had more sense! And Pettigrew... you were just along for the ride-"

"Ahem, Professor?" A voice came

"Yes, Lupin?" McGonagall sighed

"Technically, we never broke any rules." Lupin started to explain

"Never!" The professor spluttered "You were in the middle of the entrance hall at three A-M!"

"Ah but Professor," Lupin continued "The rules clearly state that students cannot be out of bed. Not one of us left out beds tonight until you asked us to."

"You were outside of Gryffindor Tower, Mr Lupin! You broke the rules!" Minerva was furious, these troublesome boys were always trying to outsmart her.

"That's not a rule, Professor. The rule is no students out of bed, and as we didn't leave our beds, we didn't break the rules." Remus looked innocently at his head of house.

"Fine! You didn't break the rules! But 20 points each from Gryffindor for breaking the spirit of the rule!" There was a glint in her eye "And ten points to each of you for finally outsmarting me. Now get back to bed." The boys did not need telling twice.
