take me where i cannot stand
It had been a long day.
They had nearly been caught by the Earthlanders (again), she and Ashley had nearly killed each other (again), and their ship was nearly falling apart (again).
So, basically, a normal day on Edolas.
Making her way up to the bridge, Erza Knightwalker, one of the soldiers that pretty much ran the boat, ran a hand through her long red hair. Days like this made her wish that she was on the right side of the law, even if she didn't agree with some of the things Earthland pushed forward. Maybe then she'd be able to breathe easier every night, maybe even see her family once in a while.
Still, there were some things she wouldn't give up for the world, and one of them, as loath as she was to admit it, was sitting back in the pilot's chair, his blue locks tousled lazily, eyes ahead on the vast emptiness of space before them. How he managed to worm his way into the icy abyss that was her heart, Erza would never understand, but the fact remained that Jellal had done just that. He was everything she wasn't, easygoing, peace-loving, and understanding, but for some reason the two of them managed to work together well enough.
Of course, they worked together better in some ways more than others.
"Hey," Erza murmured, closing the door behind her and fighting the urge to run as he turned and smiled that dumb smile of his at her. "We still on course?" Checking the obvious was just a ruse, though, something to give them time alone.
And he knew that just as well as she did. "Yep, should be landing on Sycca by noon tomorrow. Plenty of time to unload the stolen cargo and get the hell out of dodge~" Grasping her arm as she moved closer, the tattooed male pulled her down into his lap, something she allowed him to do easily. "All we gotta do for now is just sit back and wait."
Just as she had hoped. "Good to hear." And now a slight smile tugged at her lips, the closest the warrior got to outwardly admitting that she was glad to have time alone with him. Brown eyes met hazel, before she turned her head slightly to brush her lips against his unmarked cheek. "I say we get on that~"
A good way to end a long day.
A/N: shh this is what I do when I'm supposed to be working on my history essay. I write Firefly-inspired Mystwalker drabbles. And no one can tell me that Knightwalker isn't Zoe and that Mystogan isn't Wash. Because they are.
