Hi guys! Sorry I've been gone for so long but I'm back with an actual Karamel fanfic cause I've realized that I haven't actually posted a fanfic with Karamel. Anyways here it is! I know it's short but it felt right to stop it where I stopped it. Tell me what you think and if you want me to continue
Kara was walking down the beach right by their house to clear her head. It was one of the most calming things on this planet since she arrived a year ago. The sound of the soft waves crashing against the dark sand, watching all the new and exciting birds flying above her. Whenever she would watch the birds, she would think to herself: I could be right up there flying with them. It was almost November, so there was no one on the beach. Except for one person who would always be there. Mon-El. The star football player of Midvale. He would always jog along the beach, always crossing Kara's path. Mon-El would always give that same adorable smile and wave with a small "hey Kara" as they would cross paths. Sometimes Kara would work up the courage to say hi back, but usually it was just a shy wave.
Today it was cloudy and kinda cold, not that Kara could feel the cold. He was jogging with a backpack which was new and different. The blonde waved at him and he stopped and pulled out his headphones. He walked up to Kara and flipped has bag around as he undid the zipper.
"Hi Mon-El." I said shyly with a small friendly smile. One leg tucked behind the other, drawing little circles in the sand
"Hey Kara. My family's moving in a couple days, so we won't be able to see each other on the beach anymore."
"Oh. Um..." Kara stood there looking for her words, but she didn't have to find them because Mon-El cut in.
He pulled a small purple flower from his bag and extended it to Kara.
"That's a daressa!" Shit. She wasn't supposed to use her weird Kryptonian nerd words as Alex put it, but she couldn't help herself when she saw the flower her mom gave her when she was very little.
"Yup. My mom put one of these in my room when I was younger."
Wait, daressa's were a Kryptonian flower. They only grew on Krypton. How did his mom plant them in his room? Kara's face wrote a confused yet heart warmed look.
"Keep it." The Kryptonian girl scooped it up and smiled at him.
"Thank you."
"I know where you're from."
Kara's expression immediately switches from heartfelt to fear as she whips her head up to look him in the eyes.
"Don't worry, I'll keep your secret. As long as you'll keep mine?" He floats a couple inches off the ground and Kara looks much less surprised than she feels.
"Of course." The blonde smiles while looking up at him as he lowers himself to the ground. "Do… Do you ever miss it? Krypton?"
"Every second. I miss my house, my stuff, my family."
"Me too." At this point, Kara takes off her glasses and shoves them into her back pocket. "The Danvers have been so nice to me, but I just feel… I don't know, I feel like they aren't family. Like I don't belong here. I sometimes feel like my mom made a mistake sending me to earth. They died along with Krypton, maybe I should have too. I'm sorry, I'm going off track here, it's stupid, forget I said anything."
"No, don't apologize, and your feelings aren't stupid. I totally get that. I also feel like I don't belong. Anywhere."
"Pfft. You're the star football player. Everyone in the school loves you. I'm just... just the weirdo in the back who can't remember anything about the history of this country. No one notices me. Which I guess is good, cause I'd probably blow my cover."
"People notice you. Of course they do. How could they miss someone as beautiful as you?"
As those words seeped into her skin, she could feel him take a step closer. Without thinking, she pulled him into a kiss.
Mon-El was surprised but not disappointed, so he went from stiff and tall to relaxed, leaning into her. When they finally broke off, they stood there staring into each others eyes. It didn't feel akward for either of them, just relaxing. The silence was a nice chance for them to really take in the beauty of one another. After a couple minutes ticked by, Kara finally broke the silence.
"Do you have to move? Do you have to leave?"
"I lied. My family is moving, but we're only moving a couple blocks away. Actually, I'm pretty sure we're moving into the house down the street from yours. I just wanted an excuse to talk to you."
"You can talk to me any time."
"Yeah, I guess I can can't I?" They stood there smiling at each other for a long time. Once again, the absence of words didn't make it awkward, it made it more meaningful, because anything they wanted to say could be read by the look in their eyes. Their moment on the beach was halted when Alex had cleared her throat to make her presence known. She was a couple meters away, watching as Kara and Mon-El looked away from each other and stepped back, putting a few inches between them.
"Mom wants you to come home."
"Tell her I'll be a minute."
"Nuh uh. Get your ass home with me right now or my mom will kill both of us."
"Fine." Kara looks back at Mon-El and kisses him on the cheek before walking towards her new sister. "See you tomorrow."
"See you." He smiles as she walks away, hand held over the part of his cheek that she had kissed and he watched as the sisters disappeared over the horizon.
