A Brief History of Clan Black-Wall
By: Nicolas Black-Wall
Not much has ever been known of the mysterious Black-Wall Clan. It is for this very reason that I have decided to share it with those scholars across Tamriel who crave the knowledge of our Clan's history. Ours is an old clan predating the birth of great Talos himself. Thus, pieces of it are missing even to us. We give you now our history.
Beginnings
The earliest record of our Clan was in the Late Merethic Era. This was just after the settling of the coastline of northern Tamriel by the proto-Nords of Atmora. A warrior by the name Jrokel sailed across the seas to Tamriel along with Ysgramor as part of his five hundred Companions in response to the Night of Tears. While it is said he fought in many battles against the Falmer, or Snow Elves as they were before their descent into the primitive creatures they are now, there is only one specific battle given, the battle to reclaim Saarthal from the Falmer. These records come from the damaged scrolls Jrokel wrote.
After the Circle of Captains was assembled and the war bands split to spread across Tamriel, Jrokel stayed with Ysgramor. He would go on to aid Ysgramor in banishing the Falmer to their underground brethren, the Dwemer. Sometime after this, he would marry a giantess and she would go on to bear him a single child, a boy which they named Ragnar. When the Giant War broke out Jrokel's heart was divided. He was proud of and loyal to his people but he had a deep love for his wife and son. The decision on who to support was made for him a year later at the height of the war when Ysgramor's second in command, who's name isn't legible, ordered the death of all Giant kind. Ysgramor would repeal this order months later after he learned of said order from a Companion who thought to inform him. But by that time, Jrokel and his wife had died holding off his once Companions while their teenage son, Ragnar escaped.
Haruld
There is little mention of our ancestors up until 1E 242, during the Cyrodiilic Rebellion. What is given though is a family tree. Ragnar would beget Wulfrek and Arldak. Arldak begot Roloff, and Wulfrek begot Islada who married out of the family. Roloff begot Hamlen, who begot Yarlof. Yarlof would go on to have a single son so named Haruld. Despite his Nordic name, Haruld was an Imperial. As was his father and his father's father.
Haruld would join the rebellion to overthrow the Ayleids in 1E 242. There are few records on what happened in his military campaigns but what was able to be recovered states that Haruld was one of the militiamen to storm the White Gold tower. The events that followed were not recorded. The next records we hear of Haruld, he openly denounces Belharza, the only son on Queen Allessia, who he fought for in the Rebellion. He is then forced to flee Cyrodiil into Morrowind.
