Gwg: This will be short, but to the point. I might write another part of this fic, but if I do it will be in another's pov. Anyways, please read!
Looking Into Your Eyes
One-shot
As we stand here watching our companion fight for us, I wonder what you are thinking. Your eyes never show your emotions, and yet as I look into them I can see everything so clearly now. You are afraid we'll die for you know exactly what I know, Yusuke is human and being human means being mortal.
Never before has he let us down, but we knew that one day he would. Our time is running out, but Kuwabara fails to see it. He won't let himself belief that Yusuke just might do the unthinkable. His dark eyes show me his fear, one that has been there all along.
"We were too arogant this time...not the enemy..."
I hear him whisper under his breath again. He will not meet my eyes, for he knows what they will tell me. Our last words together, the last moment we took for ourselves. His mind was elsewhere, on the upcoming fight. Now, I can still hear his words that stung for a moment, but now that sting has dulled to an ache.
"Our relationship is foolish, fox...It cannot last forever...You reside here in this world, while I wish to join the demons in The Makai world...Kitsune, you have taken the life of a ningen and as such I cannot stay with you after this..."
Yet I know that my beloved would take those words back if he knew this is what we would be running in to. I can hear him and Kuwabara argueing again over Yusuke, they know the sacrafice he'll make for us. Dark crimson eyes betray everything as he looks over at me. I give him a gentle smile, one just for him before I turn away. Even though the words do not pass from my lips, I know that he hears them, echoing in his heart.
I love you, Hiei.
Gwg: This is my first Kurama/Hiei fic and I hope it went well. I wrote it after seeing Saturday's episode which was really sad. Anyways, I hope to get some reviews for this, I might write a companion piece in Hiei's pov, but this was in Kurama's. Please tell me how good it was, please? Anywho, for reference I don't own Yuyu Hakusho (but I wish I did). So just review!
