**Disclaimer**

This is not real. I do not own the Hunger Games Universe or any of Suzanne Collins' characters. This is part of my own continuation for the Hunger Games Trilogy.

Chronologically Taking Flight would be Book 5 in the Hunger Games Series. I have already written Book 4 in its entirety. Look for Inferno (Part I: The Awakening, Part II: The Mockingjays & Part III: The Mountain.) Taking Flight is a direct continuation of Inferno, just as Inferno is a direct continuation of Mockingjay. For the full adventure please begin with Inferno.

In addition this is Part 3 of the Taking Flight Series, so it begins with chapter 17.

** If you have not read the first 3 books, then there may be spoilers so please take that into consideration. **

Taking Flight

Part III: The Sacrifice

Chapter 17

The darkened room. Time and time again I dreamt of this place, remembering all of the horrors that occurred here. The torture, the hijackings, the executions. Everything that has filled my nightmares for the past year is all linked to this room. And now that I'm here again I can't imagine what President Snow will have in store for me.

Across the room a silver door creaks open revealing the sinister smirk of Dr. Aurelius.

"What have you done to Prim?" I snap.

Taking his time before responding, Aurelius washes his hands, puts on a pristine lab jacket and white gloves, and then crosses the room to prepare a syringe. "Ah Miss Everdeen, I wouldn't worry so much about your sister if I were you. She's off living the life she's always wanted. Right now I'd be a little more concerned for your own well being," Aurelius sneers.

"Well if you are going to kill me, then can we get this over with," I assert firmly.

Aurelius laughs. "Kill you? Now why would I go and do a thing like that?" He lowers his voice, almost bringing it to a whisper. "No, what I'm going to do is simply give you your life back."

I don't understand. Does this mean I'm free to go? Judging by the way he is holding that syringe, I'd say not. "What are you talking about?" I reply distrustfully.

"I'm talking about your life with Peeta of course," Aurelius responds as if it's obvious. "Don't you remember everything I created for you? A life away from war. A life where you could grow old with your beloved… and your children."

It was Aurelius. He's the one who manufactured my life with Peeta, using his own unique blend of tracker jacker venom . The one who made me believe that I had children. "None of it was real!" I protest. "I don't have any children."

"But this can change all of that," Aurelius explains while bringing the venom closer. "Come now Miss Everdeen. Don't you want to see your children again?"

"Get back! Don't touch me!" I warn. I try to wriggle out my restraints, but they're fastened too tightly. That's when I start to kick and shake, and scream obscenities. "Stay away from me!" I roar.

Only it's too late. The syringe injects into my arm sending me into a flurry of hallucinations.

Just a teaser. I will repost when all previous chapters are complete.
