"What do you want to hear from me, Cam?" I took a step from away from her, her eyes showed it obvious that her thoughts were clouding, conflicted. "Because, believe it or not, I'm all out of secrets"

She looked away from me, she was all I had left. "I don't care, Gallagher girl, I'm since of being insincere with you, tell me what you want to hear"

She looked back at me, right in the eyes. She now seemed more fragile than before, I just wanted to walk over to her and wrap my arms around her, but I couldn't, she was brainwashed. Brainwashed into believing I'm hiding everything, I have told all my secrets, and shes so fragile now it scares me, knowing deep down she is stronger than I am alone.

"Cam, talk to me" My voice seemed to echoe, only betraying the silence more and more, when there was nothing for either of us to say. I didn't utter anything else, I just waited. I waited for her to say something, to talk to me.

"Why did you leave?" She muttered quietly, although it sounded perfectly clear to me. "Because I couldn't stay. I had to leave to protect you, from anymore danger"

She shuffled an inch closer to me, studying me. Her eyes staring deep right back into mine. I pushed up the sleeves of my sweater, revealing my scars as evidence. Her now dull blue eyes widened, taking it what I was showing her. She was still beautiful to me though, her eyes still like sapphires.

"I believe you" She whispered, then suddenly stepped back, and fell back against the wall behind her.

"Your safe now, and thats all I wanted" I spoke through the silence that had passed. I marveled the dark room, only seeing certain features of the room from the dim light in the corner, the light dimly shone on Cammie, showing half her face. She stared down at the floor, sliding down the wall onto the floor, hugging her knees into her chest.

I went over, and sat down next to her. Taking hold of one of her hands, turning my head, staring into her eyes, I tucked a strand of her now darker blonde hair behind her ear. She closed her eyes for a moment then opened them again. "Tell me" I whispered, "What else do you want to hear?"

"That you won't leave me" She whispered back after a moment. I smiled, "Never" I promised.

"Zach" She spoke, almost inaudibly, but I heard her.
"Yes?"
"I missed you" She sighed,
"You too, Cam" I placed a gentle kiss on the top of her head.

After that nothing more was said.

She lay her head down on my shoulder, and I fiddled with the soft layered ends of her hair, it wasn't an awkward silence, it was the peace that we were once praying to hear, and now. Hearing it together, it made it more comfortable to sit through. Knowing eachother were now both safe, that there were no more secrets. It made it more loving, if that makes any sense to you.

"Though times don't last. Tough people do"

Cammie taught me that, and thats one of the reasons I love her, shes tough and she doesn't back down, thats how we succeeded.
