Mabel Pines was nine when she found out about the lies woven around her, creating the people she had thought were her family for nine years, painting the calming beautiful Californian suburb she had called her home, writing the memories she shared with so many people- they were just a mask to hide her true self.
First of all, Mabel didn't have a twin brother. She shared no DNA with the boy everyone claimed as her brother. At first Mabel felt horrified. Dipper was not her twin. The room they shared had suddenly felt a lot smaller and Mabel had just wanted to bury her face in Dipper's soft brown hair and forget everything she had been told. She wanted to hug the Pines' true son and just pretend she belonged in the family. She wanted to belong in the cheerful family.
Unfortunately Mabel couldn't pretend. She couldn't forget. Anger hit her like a ton of bricks. Why should she care about some dumb people that weren't even related to her in any way. It shouldn't be her problem what happened to them, she didn't ask to be born. Instantly after thinking about this she felt ashamed. The Pines had taken care of her like she was their own. They thought she was their own, but Mabel couldn't bring herself to be ungrateful. They loved her and- well she thinks she loves them too. She's not sure right now. Her feelings are impossible to grasp or to even distinguish from each other. Mabel feels so lost right now.
Finally comes the realization that she doesn't care. Mabel is not biologically a Pines, but she is one by heart, and that is not something she intends to give up. Even though Mabel has an important mission to carry out, she is going to see what life in human world can offer. She is going to go out and flirt with every guy she meets, because in the end she knows her heart will always be with this family. Mabel was born to protect Dipper Pines through his life and that is exactly what she will do.
Her name is Mabel Pines, no matter what anyone says, she's nine years old and she is a Guardian.
