Hi! I had no idea there was a Left Behind section, this is so cool! ^_^Anyway, this is a short, introspective story about Buck. Basically what he was thinking right before and after Hattie's death.*spoilers from Desecration* Disclaimer: I do not own Left Behind or any of its characters. They are just borrowed.

The day dimmed, the sky suddenly darkened. And as lightning flashed, I saw him. He, who would slaughter millions. He, who could deceive, persuade, and lie. He, who has risen to king of the world and will soon declare himself as god. Nicolae Carpathia, the potentate, the beast, the Antichrist himself. This whole day has been a mockery of Christianity, and a slap in the face of Jesus himself. There Nicolae stands, on the hill where Christ made his ultimate sacrifice, arms widespread, the False Prophet standing next to him. Leon looks proud, but uncomfortable as he bends down to scratch his ankle. But wait....what was that? It was a voice, and it sounded do familiar. No.... please no! It *couldn't* be! I stand helpless as Hattie makes her stand before the Antichrist. She was brave, so brave, and then she was gone. Consumed by fire, some of her ashes scattering in the wind. I looked over at Chaim, who was looking down, shock and horror evident on his face. He was saying nothing. I suddenly grew angry. How could he just stand there? Why couldn't he have spoken up sooner? I grabbed him by the shoulders. "That should have been you." I found myself unable to control my emotions. "Or me! We should not have left her with the responsibility!" I was so angry at Chaim and at the same time a little guilty for my outburst, so I left him there, kneeling, and went on to the Garden Tomb.

Please review! (and thanx for reading this and thanx in advance for any review I may get! ^_^)
